Unclaimed Numbers
Players of the EuroMillions Lotto in Ireland are urged to check their tickets, as a one million euro prize has gone unclaimed.
The winning numbers were drawn in the Friday, September 6th EuroMillions draw.
Location Of The Winner
The lucky ticket holder won the EuroMillions Ireland Only Raffle prize. The prize is worth over a million euros due to a special Lotto event running in September, which will see several millionaires crowned across the Emerald Isle.
The ticket, worth €1,005,000, was purchased at a Spar shop on Main Street in Kinlough, County Leitrim. It is expected to belong to a resident of the region. The ticket for the draw that evening was bought on Friday, September 6th.
The shopkeeper, Noel McGowan, expressed delight at the news and pointed out that it was not the first time the shop had sold a winning ticket. McGowan’s Spar store also sold a winning ticket worth €11,000,000 in 2016. Mr McGowan said he never gets sick of receiving a call notifying him of another winner.
However, the previous winners did not belong to the EuroMillions draw. Instead, the previous two winners had been Lotty Plus 2 top Prizes and a shared Lotto Jackpot.
Special Ongoing Event
The Ireland Only Raffle typically awards €5,000 to ten winners every week. During the special event in September, one of the ten will receive an additional €1,000,000. A million-euro winner will be drawn on September 6, 13, and 20th.
The Lotto Plus Raffle usually awards €500 to 80 to 120 winners. On Saturday, September 27th, one of these winners will receive €1,000,000 in addition to the usual prize.
The National Lottery spokesperson, Sarah Orr, said that September promises to be a bumper month for Lotto players. She added: “The 6th September draw was the first draw of the ‘4 more millionaires’ promotion with a special Ireland Only Raffle.”
The largest prize from Friday’s draw went to a ticket holder in Belgium who can claim a life-changing jackpot of €149,017,789. Over 64,000 people in Ireland won prizes from Friday’s EuroMillions draw. However, only one of those winners is entitled to the over one million euro raffle prize.
