Everyone at Liverpool will be delighted with the way the first 12 matches have gone since Jurgen Klopp left the club at the end of last season, not least his replacement Arne Slot, who has initiated the smoothest of transitions.

That should present Liverpool with plenty of scoring opportunities and the evidence from Slot’s tenure suggests they will not need a second opportunity to take them.

Mo Salah’s contract at Liverpool was the subject of discussion this week, but what happens after his current deal expires at the end of the season should take a back seat on Sunday.
The uncertainty about next term has not affected the Egyptian’s performances, as he has scored in nine of his 12 Premier League appearances this term, including a brace in last week’s 3-2 win at Southampton.
He has had multiple shots on target in seven of those matches and looks primed to add to his goal tally.
