A Proud Moment
UK-based software provider Incentive Games has been granted a license by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). This move into Ontario marks a key step in the company’s North American expansion.
The new license allows Interactive Games to supply its content to licensed operators across Ontario. The province is Canada’s most populous and home to a regulated gambling market open to private operators since 2022.
The approval follows a vigorous vetting process by the AGCO. Before granting a license, the AGCO assesses operators’ security infrastructure, responsible gaming measures, and regulatory compliance. Incentive Games’ CEO, John Gordon, said that the license is a proud moment that demonstrates the company’s ability to meet the highest industry standards while still delivering desired content.
A Busy Start To 2025
The games producer is also celebrating licenses in other regions. In March, the company was approved by the UK Gambling Commission. In June, they entered the US market for the first time after receiving approval for a license from the Michigan Gaming Control Board.
The entrance into new markets coincides with the launch of Incentive Studios. The company’s new in-house division is dedicated to real-money gaming. Announced in June, Incentive Studios is a natural evolution for a company that has long worked in free-to-play content. The studio will add a commercial edge to the company’s long-standing design philosophy as the company looks to create more real-money games.
According to Mr Gordon, the shift towards real-money gaming is built on the years of experience the company has with free-to-play games. He believes that at this time, they have refined the art of engagement in the free-to-play world.
The games provider is already developing a portfolio of original titles through the new studio. The first wave is set to launch in the third quarter of 2025. The first titles will include reimagined takes on popular games like Crash, Tower, and Arcade. Incentive Games claims to have rebuilt the games from the ground up. They aim to make games that are sharper, more satisfying, and more rewarding for current and future players.
The company’s launch in Ontario will also be supported by an existing partnership with games developer giants, Light & Wonder. Through the collaboration, Incentive Games’ real money titles, like those developed by Incentive Studios, will be distributed across global regulated markets. The games will become available to players in the U.S., Canada, South Africa, the UK, as well as numerous European markets.
