Lightning Storm Review

You can trigger five bonus rounds in Lightning Storm. Here is a quick look at each:

Monster Mash

Fans of Frankenstein, old horror movies, or fun games in general should lap up the Monster Mash bonus game. This takes you to another part of the lab containing a massive cylinder featuring three reels, each with different parts of the monster: heads, torsos, and legs. Each one has a random multiplier, and there are two types:

• Regular: Boosts the total multiplier. 

• Global: Multiplies all existing multipliers. 

The presenter will pull a lever to spin the reels. They will eventually stop to reveal specific body parts and the corresponding multipliers. 

Hot Spot

The Hot Spot bonus round revolves around a 9x12 wall of hidden multipliers. Players will choose a tile to reveal the value, and a ‘hot spot’ of 3x3 squares will move around the wall. 

The hot spot will eventually stop over a grid of nine multipliers, and if the tile you selected is included, its value will be doubled. The top multiplier available in Hot Spot is 10,000x.

Fireball

Fireball uses an enclosed floor space containing 149 pockets, with a Double or Regular multiplier in each. A ball will be launched into the space, and if it lands on a Regular multiplier, that will become your winning multiplier. 

But if the ball ends up on a Double multiplier instead, each Regular multiplier will be doubled. In this case, the ball will be relaunched to start again with the enhanced values in play. This process can repeat over and over until all multipliers are worth up to 10,000x. 

Battery Charger

Battery Charger revolves around a mini wheel that activates a conveyor belt with 10 batteries. Nine batteries have Regular multipliers and one has a Global multiplier, which can double the values of the other batteries. 

Batteries will land on the charger one at a time, with results determined by the mini wheel. Batteries will be charged: overcharged batteries will be removed, but any that are charged safely will award the corresponding prize. Global multipliers will double the values remaining on the conveyor belt. 

Lightning Storm

The Lightning Storm bonus round offers a chance to play for the maximum prize of 20,000x your bet. It uses a huge billboard showing eight Regular multipliers and three Global multipliers. 

At the start of the game, players will be invited to pick one of three lightning strikes, each with its own multiplier. Lightning will connect with the billboard and indicate one or more random values to create your total multiplier.

Lightning Storm is played in English, and the hosts do a great job of engaging players while moving the action along efficiently. The studio looks fantastic, with a fun, dynamic design that evokes classic horror movies and different interpretations of the Frankenstein story.

Lightning Storm is one of the most distinctive live game shows from Evolution’s stable, with an excellent studio design and five diverse bonus features. However, as most of the bonuses use RNG-based gameplay, players looking for a purely live experience from start to finish may feel a tad disappointed. 

Overall, though, this is a strong release that offers the potential for big payouts, several betting options, and varied gameplay courtesy of the bonuses.
