Area Link Wolf Unleashed Slot Review

The base game does not contain much beyond standard line wins and the chance of collecting Moon Scatters. Almost all the entertainment sits inside the Area Link Bonus. Its basic Hold and Win structure is familiar, but four colour-coded upgrades can combine to create stronger versions of the round.

Area Link Bonus

Every red, purple, yellow, or blue Moon that lands is collected in the matching pot above the reels. Each collection has a chance to trigger the Area Link Bonus with the related upgrade active. More than one Moon colour can trigger on the same spin, so you may enter with several modifiers.

The feature begins with 3 respins. Only Moon symbols can land during the round. White Moons carry cash values, lock in position, and reset the respin counter to 3 whenever a new one appears.

When no respins remain, all values on the grid are awarded. The Mini, Minor, and Major symbols pay fixed prizes of 10x, 20x, and 100x, respectively. Filling all 15 positions awards the 5,000x Grand Jackpot on top of the other prizes.

It is a familiar Hold and Win setup. The upgrades are what decide whether the round feels ordinary or genuinely lively.

Red Moon Upgrade

The Red Moon adds random multipliers to newly landed White Moons. On each respin, qualifying symbols can receive a 2x, 3x, or 5x multiplier.

This is the most direct upgrade. It does not change the structure of the round, but it can make individual Moon values much stronger. A packed grid of tiny prizes is not terribly exciting. Adding a few 5x multipliers gives it some teeth.

Purple Moon Upgrade

The Purple Moon opens a second identical grid. Both grids play independently, providing more spaces for cash prizes, jackpots, and sticky Moons.

This is arguably the strongest visual upgrade because the feature instantly becomes much larger. More positions also mean more opportunities to keep resetting the respins. It does not guarantee a strong payout, of course. It merely gives the wolf a second field in which to disappoint you.

Yellow Moon Upgrade

Yellow Moons act as collectors. When one lands, it collects the values of all other prize symbols currently visible. It then becomes a regular White Moon.

The collector can create a useful instant payout, particularly when the grid is already busy. Its value depends heavily on timing. Landing one early on a sparse board does little. Landing one after several good Moons have locked can change the round considerably.

Blue Moon Upgrade

The Blue Moon is the new addition in Wolf Unleashed. When it lands, it distributes its own value across other prizes on the grid. A single Moon can receive the boost multiple times before the Blue Moon changes into a standard White Moon.

This is a reasonable addition because it improves values already present rather than simply adding another fixed prize. However, it is still one modifier added to an otherwise near-identical sequel. The word “Unleashed” is doing some heavy lifting again.

Multiple Moon Upgrades

Several Moon upgrades can run in the same bonus if their corresponding Scatters help trigger it. In the strongest scenario, all four are active together.

The interaction order matters. Blue Moon boosts are applied before the Yellow Moon collects values, while Red Moon multipliers can affect prizes after the Yellow Moon changes into a White Moon. The Purple Moon adds the second grid around all this.

Combining upgrades is easily the most entertaining part of Area Link Wolf Unleashed. A basic single-colour round can feel plain. Two or more modifiers create the version of the bonus that the sequel should probably have offered more consistently.

Area Link Wolf Unleashed is acceptable in isolation. The top RTP is good, the Area Link Bonus is easy to follow, and combining several Moon upgrades can produce an enjoyable respin round.

The problem is the sequel label.

Area Vegas has reused almost the whole first game. Same wolf. Same scenery. Same symbols. Same bonus foundation. Even the 5,000x max win remains unchanged. The Blue Moon modifier is the notable addition, but it is not enough to make the sequel feel newly built.

The base game also needs help. There are no meaningful modifiers outside the Moon collections, so much of the session becomes a wait for the Area Link Bonus. Twenty paylines and modest regular-symbol payouts do little to fill that gap.
