Big Bass Trophy Catch Slot Review

Big Bass Trophy Catch has one bonus round, the free spins. These add a new scatter collection feature that can trigger modifiers during your round. 

Free Spins 

Landing 3, 4, or 5 scatters on the reels will award you with 10, 15, or 20 free spins respectively. Land 2 scatters and you may  randomly get a third through a hook animation. The free spins add the fisherman wild, who can substitute for all paying symbols and collect the values of any fish in view. Wilds are collected, with each fourth wild retriggering the round by adding 10 more spins to the total. Retriggers also add a multiplier to the fish collection feature, with the first retrigger adding a 2x multiplier, the second a 3x multiplier, and the third a 10x multiplier. This way the round can be retriggered for a total of 3 times. 

If a scatter hits the reels it will be collected by one of the 3 fishermen found on the left-hand side of the screen. When this happens it can randomly trigger a modifier associated with the fisherman that collected the fish. In addition you’ll get anything from 1 to 5 more free spins. 

The fisherman modifiers are as follows: 

• x2 All Wins: multiplies the spin’s wins and the value of any fish collected by the fisherman wild by 2x. 
• More Fish: adds more fish to the reels. 
• More Men: adds more fisherman wilds to the reels. 

If at least one fisherman wild hits the reels, fish symbols may appear on the reels at the end of the spin. If there are wilds on the reels but no fish then a bazooka animation may randomly add fish to the reels. Finally a hook animation may randomly add wilds and fish to the game grid. 

The free spins take place on special reels. If you manage to get a total win of 5,000x then the round ends immediately, with the payout awarded and any remaining free spins forfeited.

Big Bass Trophy Catch adds a scatter collecting twist to the Big Bass series, but does that prove to be enough for the average slot fan? We honestly don’t think so. Big Bass Trophy Catch plays identically to all the other Big Bass slots from Bonanza onwards, and while the graphics are a bit nice and the free spins slightly livelier that doesn’t make much of a change, never mind an upgrade. You’ll probably have a good time with this one if you’re a die hard Big Bass fan, but then again you might as well stick with your current favourite if you enjoy these slots that much.
