Blood Suckers Slot Review

Sharpen your steaks and get your garlic ready because it is time to take on a selection of iconic vampires in NetEnt’s classic Blood Suckers slot. The title, first released in 2013, was a huge hit for the company, going on to inspire a sequel, Blood Suckers 2, and a Megaways spin-off, Blood Suckers Megaways. Does this slot still hold up, though? Or has it become toothless with age? Let’s take it for a spin and find out in this Blood Suckers slot review.

Blood Suckers RTP and Wagering

Blood Suckers base game screenshot

Vampires might be quite frightening, but there is nothing scary about the gameplay here. The slot uses a standard 5x3 set-up, with players able to win across 25 paylines. All winning combinations are secured across adjacent reels, starting on the leftmost one. You can change the stake on any spin, with the minimum wager being £0.25 and the maximum being £50. As far as winning potential goes, you can land a win of 1,014x your stake. This is a fairly average win that is not going to get too much attention. What will get your attention, however, is the slot’s 98% RTP, which puts it comfortably above average.

The slot has been given a low volatility rating from NetEnt, which means you shouldn’t expect to land big wins, but there is plenty of scope for smaller, more frequent wins.

Blood Suckers Symbols and Audio & Video Design

Blood Suckers is a full-on vampire-fest that pays tribute to many of history’s most iconic vampires. This includes Vlad the Impaler, who steps up as the highest-paying standard symbol, offering a 20x payout for combinations of five on the reels. The likes of Nosferatu, an Aristocrat, and a Succubus all join him on the reels. The Vampire Bite Wild pays out 300x the player’s stake for a combination of five, making it the most valuable in the game.

From a visual perspective, the game definitely looks dated, but the character design is a lot of fun, and the overall look and feel of the game create a spooky and enjoyable atmosphere. The game also changes settings for one of the bonus rounds, which is a nice touch and helps to mix things up a little.

Blood Suckers Mobile Features

Blood Suckers may be a slightly older slot game, but it is still fully optimised to run across different devices and platforms. The Blood Suckers mobile slot is exactly the same as the desktop version, with the game’s visual elements remaining in place and no gameplay being compromised.

Blood Suckers Bonus Features

If you are going to take down a hoard of vampires, then you’re going to need a little help from some Blood Suckers bonus features.

Vampire Slaying

The most enjoyable bonus round in the game is the Vampire Slaying round. This is basically a pick-me-style game that is triggered when you land three or more Stake & Hammer symbols on the reels. You will be presented with a room full of coffins, and you must select which ones you think have vampires inside, with each vampire displaying a prize. The round ends if you choose an empty coffin.

Free Spins

Landing three or more Scatters will trigger the Blood Suckers Free Spins bonus. Players get 10 free spins, with each win in the game being instantly tripled. If you land three or more Scatters during the round, you will be given an additional 10 spins.

Blood Suckers Final Thoughts

When you take other NetEnt classics like Starburst or Gonzo’s Quest for a spin, you can see why they have managed to maintain their status throughout the years. Blood Suckers does not quite have the same effect. There’s no denying that the slot is well-designed, especially for its age, and that it has an exceptionally high RTP, but there is nothing here that makes this feel like anything particularly above average. It is still a fun offering from NetEnt, but its classic status feels largely based on a high RTP and nothing else.
