Free Spins

The free spins remain the classic bonus we all know and love. Land 3 or more tomb scatters anywhere on the reels for a round of 10 free spins with a randomly selected expanding symbol. The expanding symbol forms wins from any position on the reels, and of course will fill the entire reel when landed. The free spins can be retriggered, as landing 3 or more scatters will add 10 more free spins to the total. However you won’t get a new expanding symbol. 

GO Collect 

The titular GO Collect feature sees the addition of gold staters to random symbols on the reels. When landed these are automatically collected in the glowing urn found in the bottom left-hand corner of the reels. The more staters you collect the higher the chance of randomly triggering the Treasure Vault feature. This is a hold and spin-style round where you get 3 respins with which to land as many staters as possible. Staters hold cash values of 1-5x the stake or Grand, Major, Minor, or Mini prizes worth 500x, 100x, 20x, or 10x the bet. The round ends once you run out of respins, which is when the values on the staters are added up and the total awarded as a cash prize.

Book of Dead GO Collect is a perfectly decent slot, but does it add anything of substance to the classic Book of Dead experience? After our testing the conclusion is, frankly, not really. If anything it’s disappointing that all Play’n GO could think of adding to Book of Dead after a decade is a mediocre take on the hold and spin feature. As such one can do a lot worse than return to the original Book of Dead, which has stuck around for so long for good reason, instead of playing this weak update.
