Colt Lightning Inferno Slot Review

Colt Lightning Inferno has a trio of special features, so let’s take a look at each of them. 

Lightning Blaze 

Land the special horseshoe symbol on reel 3 for the Lightning Blaze feature. This adds anything from 3 to 20 flaming frames on random positions on the reels. Symbols in the frames are transformed into the same animal symbol, possibly bringing a decent win. 

Hold N’ Load 

The Hold N’ Load feature is a hold and spin-style round that’s randomly triggered by the Inferno Core as it collects Inferno Coins. As such you get 3 respins with which to land as many coins as possible. Coins carry cash values and stick to the reels when landed, which resets the number of respins back to 3. 

You’ll notice this round has 4 additional locked rows. You can unlock these rows by collecting 3, 10, 15, and 20 coins respectively. The round ends once you either run out of respins or fill all 40 reel positions with coins, something that will award you the Grand prize worth 1,000x the stake. 

Free Spins

Landing the 3 scatters found on reels 2, 3, and 4 awards you with a round of 8 free spins. These take place on reels with 5 rows, increasing the number of paylines to 3,125, and regular colts replaced by fire colts. The horseshoe remains available during the free spins, and if landed it will add 1-4 fire frames that stick to the reels for the duration. At the end of the round all symbols in the fire frames will transform in the same animal symbol. Landing a scatter adds +1 free spin to the total up to a maximum of 47 free spins.

Colt Lightning Inferno fails to break into any new ground that wasn’t already trodden flat by its predecessors, as it remains wholly dependent on tried and tested mechanics and features. The result is a game that is as unoriginal as it is handsome, and we’ll be first to say this is a great looking game. As such it depends on whether free spins and a hold and spin feature are enough for you, not to mention wins of up to 50,000x the stake. It’s fine enough but these days we do expect more from our video slots, never mind ones from Play’n GO.
