Dusk Princess Slot Review

Hacksaw Gaming is returning to its anime-princess lane, and by now it is clearly a lane the studio likes driving down. In our Dusk Princess slot review, we will cover this March 2026 release that follows Cloud Princess, Sun Princess, and Rainbow Princess. The game feels calmer, softer, and slightly more refined. The setup is a 6x5 cluster-pays grid with medium volatility, a 96.21% top RTP, and a max win of 10,000x your stake. The main mechanic is the Blessing Bar sitting above the reels. Fill it with wins, and it starts dropping Wilds with multipliers onto the grid. Fill it again, and the rewards get stronger. That is the whole pitch, really. Simple on paper, but it can build into something quite tasty when cascades start behaving.

Dusk Princess RTP and Wagering

Dusk Princess - RTP and Wagering

Dusk Princess uses a 6x5 grid and pays through clusters rather than paylines. To win, you need at least 5 matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically. Once a cluster lands, those symbols disappear, and so do any other matching symbols of that same type elsewhere on the grid. New symbols then drop in, which can keep the sequence going.

That “Super Cascades” behaviour matters because the Blessing Bar is fed by the number of winning symbols in a sequence. So this is not just a slot where you are hoping for a single hit and moving on. You are trying to build momentum inside one spin.

The betting range runs from £0.10 to £100, which is solid and sensible. RTP tops out at 96.21%, though lower versions at 94.42%, 92.30%, and 86.10% also exist. So, as always, check the version before committing. Volatility is listed as medium, and that feels about right. The slot game does not play like a wild maniac, but it can still deliver respectable bursts when the meter starts paying out proper Wilds and multipliers.

Dusk Princess Symbols and Audio & Video Design

This is easily one of the prettier recent Hacksaw releases. The whole game lives in a pastel twilight world of floating architecture, soft clouds, pale purple skies, and delicate anime styling. It looks polished without feeling overloaded. More importantly, it has a bit of identity. You can spot it in a second.

Princess Luna stands to the right of the grid, looking like she wandered out of an anime fantasy series and into a slot studio by accident. The symbol set fits the mood too. The lower pays are coloured gems, while the premiums are candles, cards, teapots, fans, and crowns. The top symbol pays 150x for an 18+ cluster, which is decent enough, though obviously the real money comes once multiplier Wilds get involved.

The soundtrack does a lot of good work here. It is soft, emotional, and just theatrical enough to sell the “magical dusk realm” idea without becoming syrupy. Some slots look good and sound forgettable. This one gets both right.

Dusk Princess Mobile Features

Dusk Princess works very well on mobile. The 6x5 grid stays readable, the symbols are clear, and the top Blessing Bar is easy to track even on a smaller screen. Hacksaw usually handles mobile presentation well, and this is no exception.

The controls are clean, the animations stay smooth, and the game never feels cramped. That matters more than usual in a cluster slot, because once wins start cascading and the meter begins filling, things can get messy fast if the layout is poorly handled. No such issue here.

Dusk Princess Features

Dusk Princess is not packed with ten different side systems fighting for attention. It really revolves around one main mechanic, then pushes stronger versions of it through the bonus rounds.

Super Cascades

Whenever a winning cluster lands, all matching symbols in that cluster are removed, plus any other symbols of the same type elsewhere on the grid. New symbols then fall in from above. If that creates another win, the process repeats.

This gives the game a smoother rhythm than standard cluster pays, because one good hit can clear out far more of the board than you might expect.

Dusk Princess - Super Cascades Feature

Blessing Bar

The Blessing Bar sits above the grid and fills when winning combinations land. The first activation needs an 8-symbol win. After that, each full bar increases the fill requirement by +2 symbols.

When the bar fills, it activates and resets. On the first activation, it awards 3 Wild symbols with a multiplier value attached. After that, future activations increase either the number of Wilds or the multiplier value. The Wild count can increase by +1 each time, and the multiplier can jump through values from 1x up to 500x.

Most of the time, you are not seeing some absurd 500x leap, obviously. But because it can happen, even the base game never feels completely dead. If more than one multiplier Wild is part of the same winning combination, the multiplier values are added together before being applied.

The Dusk Court Bonus

Landing 3 Scatters triggers 10 Free Spins in The Dusk Court. This bonus keeps the base mechanics, but the Blessing Bar progression carries through the whole round instead of resetting between spins. Awarded Wilds start at 3, and the multiplier starts at 2x.

This is the most accessible bonus and the “entry-level” version of the feature set, though it still has enough room to build into something meaningful.

Dusk Princess - The Dusk Court Bonus Feature

The Lunar Court Bonus

Landing 4 Scatters triggers 10 Free Spins in The Lunar Court. Here, the awarded Wild count starts at 4, and the multiplier starts at 5x. It also takes 15 symbols to fill the Blessing Bar the first time, then the threshold rises by +3 per activation. It is a stronger bonus, but naturally you are giving up some trigger frequency to get there.

Dusk Princess - The Lunar Court Bonus Feature

The Night Court Hidden Epic Bonus

Landing 5 Scatters unlocks the Hidden Epic bonus, and this is the version with the most bite. You still get 10 Free Spins, but now the Blessing Bar stays full throughout the round and activates once on every free spin after regular wins have been processed. Wilds start at 6, and the multiplier starts at 10x.

That is the bonus everyone actually wants, and for obvious reasons. It is also the one you will see least often, because life is cruel and slot maths even more so.

Feature Buy

Dusk Princess includes four feature-buy style options:

  1. 3x stake for BonusHunt FeatureSpins, making bonus triggers 5 times more likely.
  2. 50x stake for Blessed FeatureSpins, which guarantees a full Blessing Bar activation at the start of every spin.
  3. 65x stake for direct entry to The Dusk Court.
  4. 250x stake for direct entry to The Lunar Court.

No direct buy exists for the Hidden Epic bonus, which is probably for the best. That sort of button tends to bring out terrible decisions in people.

Dusk Princess Final Thoughts

Dusk Princess is one of those slots that looks elegant and actually manages to play elegantly too. That sounds obvious, but it is not. Plenty of games have beautiful artwork and then saddle it with mechanics that feel like someone emptied a toolbox onto the floor.

This one keeps it tidy.

The Blessing Bar is the key draw and it works because it is easy to understand. Win enough symbols, fill the bar, get Wilds and multipliers. Then try to do it again for better ones. There is enough escalation in that loop to keep it interesting, especially in the bonus rounds where the progress carries over and the meter starts from a much stronger position.

I also like that the base game is not useless. The bonus rounds are obviously better, but because the bar can jump sharply on multiplier values, the main game still has some genuine punch. The 10,000x max win is healthy too, especially for a medium-volatility slot that is more about layered build-up than violent swings.

If there is a downside, it is that the mechanic is maybe a little too clean for some players. Those who want madness, random modifiers everywhere, or more moving parts may find it slightly controlled. But for anyone who likes polished visuals, readable features, and a slot that does not need a user manual the size of a mortgage contract, Dusk Princess is easy to like.

Dusk Princess gets an 8 because it does the important things very well. The presentation is lovely, the Blessing Bar mechanic is simple but effective, and the bonus rounds add meaningful upgrades rather than fake variety. It is not the most explosive slot of the year, but it is one of the more well-put-together ones. A very good release, and probably the strongest Princess slot since Cloud Princess.
