Fire Toad is one of the more original animals-themed slots I’ve seen in a while. It stars a large, red-and-yellow toad with a flame flickering on his head, and he makes for a super-cute sight. He appears in five different growth stages, from a tadpole to his full-sized form, and he carries a flame between his eyes each time.
The game looks fantastic: the graphics are sharp, the colours are bright, and the animations are realistic. The volcanic Hawaiian island behind the semi-transparent reels features a lot of intricate detail, such as the smoothly animated water and drifting steam. Its music is fun and melodic, too, with a suitably Hawaiian feel.
The toad makes up most of the symbols in Fire Toad, though you will see classic card suit symbols (with a Hawaiian twist), too. The Adult Fire Toad symbol is the most valuable standard symbol, as it is worth 5x your bet for 5 (though that is an incredibly small prize). The Firefly Scatter is the highest-paying symbol overall, though. It awards 50x your bet for 5.

Fire Toad Final Thoughts
Fire Toad is a good little game with a great theme that feels fresh. Charting the growth of a toad from its tadpole stage to adulthood is a novel idea, and the Symbol Upgrade feature works well with that. Having this be a magical fire-generating toad only makes this all the more charming and interesting.
The potential to retrigger the Free Spins feature over and over an unlimited number of times is a welcome inclusion, especially when each retrigger upgrades symbols (to a point, at least).
Upgrading symbols is particularly helpful considering that their values are so small — the 5,000x max win seems very far away when looking at the paytable and volatility. But despite this, Fire Toad is an entertaining, well-designed slot that is well worth a try.
