Fishin Frenzy The Big Match has two bonus features: Free Games and The Net (Pick a Fish). Blueprint Gaming also offers Power Play, a separate higher-stake mode rather than a bonus round in its own right, covered in its own section below since it meaningfully changes how the reels play. All three interact with the Fisherman Wild and fish collection system, which drives the game toward its 2,500x maximum win.

Free Games

Free Games triggers when three or more Bonus symbols land anywhere on the reels, or as one of the possible outcomes of The Net (see below). During the round, the Fisherman symbol becomes the Wild and collects any fish symbol visible on the same spin, paying out each collected fish's current value.

Fisherman symbols are tracked during the round. Every four fishermen collected upgrades the smallest fish symbol currently on the reels to the next size up and awards five additional free games. Each upgrade increases the value of the affected fish tier. When all fish symbols on the reels have been upgraded to their maximum size, every fish that lands is worth 50x the bet per symbol, representing the game's highest payout state.

A Can of Worms symbol can also appear during Free Games. When it lands in view at the same time as a fish symbol and a Fisherman symbol, it collects the fish, paying out its current value. This mechanic is confirmed exclusive to Free Games by Blueprint Gaming and does not run in the base game.

The Net (Pick a Fish)

Every fish symbol that lands, during the base game or Power Play, adds to a net displayed above the reels. The net can trigger at random, giving a Pick a Fish moment where one of five outcomes is revealed: Free Games, Collect (every visible fish is gathered at once), Cash Streak (fish keep spinning before being collected), Extra Fish (extra fish symbols are added, guaranteeing a fish win), or Fisherman Add, which is only available during Power Play and adds Fisherman symbols to the reels.

Power Play

Power Play costs 5x the standard stake, raising the effective bet range to £0.50–£5,000 per spin. When active, the reels change: all card-rank and lower-tier themed symbols are removed, leaving only blanks, fish, Fisherman, and Bonus symbols. This concentrates the reels on the symbols that drive the collection mechanic and increases the frequency with which meaningful symbols appear.

The Fisherman Wild is active during Power Play, applying the same collection and upgrade logic as the Free Games round. Power Play can therefore trigger the full upgrade chain without needing to enter the Free Games round first.

Fishin Frenzy The Big Match is easy to follow, and the upgrade system in Free Games gives a real sense of progression that I find satisfying. That clarity is worth crediting. But there is only one real bonus feature, Power Play is a stake option rather than a second, and the 93% RTP sits below most UK slots. It does not do anything the wider Fishin Frenzy range has not already done better. This suits series fans wanting a simple, familiar session; if you want more bonus variety or a better return, higher quality options exist.
