Like other marine-themed slots Great Blue is set underwater. In reality this means a backdrop that’s little more than a static image depicting the depths, with seaweed and corals shrouded in dark blue and multiple columns of bubbles making their way to the surface. The reels, meanwhile, are light blue. The symbols on these include cartoony versions of different underwater creatures, which add a touch of humour to the action. The audio on the other hand is minimal, as it consists of a simple, repetitive tune that plays whenever you spin the reels. 

There is a total of 13 different symbols on the reels. Of these 11 are the paying symbols. The shark, turtle, seahorse, starfish, and fish are the high pays, while the A, K, Q, J, 10, and 9 make the low pays. The orca is the wild, which can substitute for all these symbols and doubles the payouts of any wins it makes part of. Last but not least is the oyster scatter. Land 3 or more of these for a round of free spins.

Great Blue is a likable, if basic marine-themed slot with simple visuals and solid win potential of up to 10,000x the stake. It’s not a game that will set the world on fire - never mind its watery setting - but it’s pleasant enough, and the free spins can get pretty fun if you get a decent multiplier to go with them. Are there better slots out there? Definitely, but we still enjoyed this one.
