Kickoff Kings runs on four things: the Hold & Hit Bonus Game with its four jackpots, the Bonus Blast feature, an Instant Win feature, and a Buy Feature.

Hold & Hit Bonus Game

Land the Bonus Collect on reel 2 alongside Bonus symbols on reels 1 and 3 and you trigger the Bonus Game. The triggering symbols lock, you start with 3 spins, and only Bonus and Bonus Collect symbols land from there.

Empty spots can randomly reveal cash values of x1, x2, x5, x7, x10, or x15, or one of the jackpots: Mini x25, Minor x50, Major x150, or Grand x1000. Every Bonus symbol that lands is swept up by the Bonus Collect symbols and added to their running total, and any new symbol resets the spins to 3.

The round ends after 3 blank spins or when the total hits the x5000 cap, at which point every Bonus Collect total is summed and paid. It is a textbook hold-and-win, competent and mildly tense, but nothing you have not seen a hundred times.

Bonus Blast

This one fires at random in the base game, spreading extra Bonus and Bonus Collect symbols across the reels to make sure enough land to trigger the Bonus Game. A helpful nudge, essentially, that turns a near miss into an actual bonus.

Instant Win

When a Bonus Collect lands with one or more Bonus symbols, jackpots included, in a combination that does not quite trigger the full Bonus Game, it collects their values and pays them straight to your balance. A small consolation that stops those almost-triggers feeling wasted.

Buy Feature

You can buy the Bonus Game directly, with the price scaling to your stake. Worth knowing, though: bonus buys are banned at UKGC-licensed casinos, so if you are playing in the UK the Buy button will not be available, and you will need to trigger the bonus through normal play.

Spinomenal’s Hold & Hit 3x3 engine is a proven, easy-to-follow little machine, and I spent a pleasant enough stretch watching coins collect and hoping a Grand jackpot would wander onto the grid.

The trouble is that I have played this exact game before, just with Aztec masks or piggy banks instead of footballs. Swap the skin and nothing underneath changes. The hold-and-win collect is fine, the jackpots give you something to chase, and the Bonus Blast is a nice touch that keeps near misses from stinging.

But there is no idea here that belongs to Kickoff Kings specifically, and knowing that a casino could be running the 89.46% version rather kills any urge to stick around.

Kickoff Kings lands at a 5.5 because it is a perfectly functional hold-and-win draped over the most generic football theme going, with nothing to separate it from the dozen other Hold & Hit 3x3 reskins Spinomenal has already released. The four-jackpot chase gives it a flicker of purpose, but a template this familiar paired with an RTP that can sink to a punishing 89.46% is a hard game to recommend over the many better cash-collect slots out there.
