King Cobra Slot Review

King Cobra has two core features: the Gold Cobra Wild multiplier in the base game, and Poison Spins, a Hold and Spin bonus built around a four-tier cobra multiplier system.

Gold Cobra Wild

The Gold Cobra Wild lands on reels 2, 3, and 4. It substitutes for all standard paying symbols and always carries a multiplier of 2x, 3x, or 5x. When a Gold Cobra Wild contributes to a winning combination, its multiplier applies to that win. The multiplier behaviour differs by cobra type. Green Cobra and Epic Green Cobra are additive: they add their value to the current reel multiplier. Gold Cobra and Epic Gold Cobra are multiplicative: they multiply the current reel multiplier, either on a single reel or across all five reels simultaneously.

Poison Spins

Triggered by landing three or more Scatter symbols anywhere on the 5×5 grid. Three Poison Respins are awarded. During the feature, the reel area is cleared and five multiplier counters, one per reel, appear above the grid, each starting at a base value.

Four special cobra symbols can land during Poison Spins, each affecting the reel multipliers in different ways:

Green Cobra: Drops into the reel area and adds a fixed amount to the multiplier counter of the reel it lands on. The value added is +1, +2, +5, +10, or +20 depending on the cobra that lands.

Epic Green Cobra: Operates the same as the Green Cobra but applies its value addition to all five reel multiplier counters simultaneously.

Gold Cobra: Multiplies the current multiplier counter of the reel it lands on by a factor of 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, or 20x.

Epic Gold Cobra: Operates the same as the Gold Cobra but applies its multiplier factor to all five reel multiplier counters simultaneously.

Any time a cobra symbol lands during Poison Spins, the respin count resets to three. The feature ends when all three respins are used without a cobra symbol landing, or the session reaches a natural conclusion.

At the end of Poison Spins, the values of all five reel multiplier counters are totalled together, and that combined total is applied to the player's stake as the feature win.

The Poison Spins mechanic is what makes King Cobra interesting to me. The four-tier cobra system (two types of additive cobras and two types of multiplicative cobras, with single-reel and all-reel variants of each) creates a clear escalation path. When an Epic Gold Cobra lands and multiplies all five reel counters simultaneously, the jump in the total is immediate and visible. The respin reset on every cobra landing means the feature can sustain itself as long as cobras keep coming, which is the kind of momentum mechanic that makes Hold and Spin features engaging.

The 5×5 grid is the right choice for this feature: more reel positions mean more potential cobra landing spots per respin, which supports the Hold and Spin dynamic better than a standard 5×3 layout would.

The caveat is one I find myself raising with Booming Games more than once: the 95.60% RTP is below benchmark. The 10,000x maximum win is genuinely achievable through the Poison Spins multiplier chain, and the Gold Cobra Wild's multiplicative behaviour in the base game creates surprise payline wins. But the mathematical starting position is weaker than comparable high-volatility slots, and players should factor that into their choice.
