Random Encounters

Trigger the Random Encounter mini-game by landing the Random Encounter symbol on the first reel during the base game. Symbols that land on the same row as this symbol determine which of three mini games you’ll face — each one with its own risk and reward.

The difficulty of the challenge is influenced by the combination of Low Paying (LP) and High Paying (HP) symbols on the row. 

In each game, you must roll a 20-sided die to hit a specific score. The symbols that trigger the round decide which modifiers are applied to the die. Each high symbol adds one to your dice roll. Each low symbol increases your required score. The first low symbol starts at three extra, with one more added for every extra symbol.

If you score over 20 in total, it unlocks the next round, which applies a multiplier to the payout.

The three mini games are Monster Attack, Treasure Lair and Tavern Night.

Dungeon Free Spins

Activate Dungeon Free Spins by landing three Dungeon Scatter symbols on the reels. Before the reels begin, you’ll draw three buffs from a deck of magical cards. Here are the different options:

Forgotten Temple: Awards five additional spins 

Abandoned Altar: Awards three additional spins

Golden Artifact: Transforms a random high-paying symbol into Wilds

Lady Death: Removes the lowest-paying symbol from the reels

During Free Spins, high-paying symbols can also generate Attack Icons (crossed swords), which will wound the dragon you are fighting against. Collect these to climb a multiplier ladder: 2x, 5x, 20x with a maximum of 100x that can be applied to your total Free Spins win.

Role-playing Elements

Throughout the game, you will be given challenges – such as collecting five Wilds in the base game. Although it unlocks different coloured dice and levels, it doesn’t actually affect the gameplay and is simply a fun detail to make the game even more engaging.

I don’t hand out the ‘exceptional’ rating very often, but this game truly deserves it. The level of detail that has gone into the design and gameplay is impressive, and will certainly resonate with fans of games like Dungeons and Dragons. Although I’m not into those kinds of games myself, I still found Loot & Labyrinths extremely engaging. It’s great that the players have Adventurer alter egos, and a range of interesting bonus features keeps things exciting.

Although this game may be slightly confusing if you’re completely new to the slots world, it would be easy enough to pick up after a while of playing. The maximum prize of 20,000x your bet will certainly appeal to a wide range of players, and the RTP of 96.34% is not to be sniffed at. All in all, this is a high-quality slot that is sure to be a hit with gamers everywhere.
