Lucky Fortune Tree Slot Review

Lucky Fortune Tree might ultimately play like a fruit machine, but it doesn’t look like it. After all it features the titular tree in the background - one that’s complete with animated branches that sway with the breeze. The tree is planted in quite the pastoral setting, with rolling green hills that extend beyond the slot if you’re playing the game on PC or in landscape mode. 

The reels making the game proper are simply designed in semi-transparent blue. Here you’ll find the 8 symbols that make the game proper. There are 6 paying symbols, which are the lantern, firecrackers, scroll, and gems in teal, blue, and yellow. There are also gold coins, which act as cash symbols. These are found on reels 1 and 2, and can hold cash values worth anything from 0.5x to 1,000x the bet. As you might expect, you can collect these values through the collect symbol, which is the red envelope found on reel 3.

• Firecrackers - 5x bet
• Scroll - 2x bet 
• Teal gem - 1x bet
• Blue gem - 0.8x bet
• Yellow gem - 0.5x bet

As stripped down as it is, Lucky Fortune Tree actually has a couple of bonus features revolving around the cash and collect symbols. Let’s see what they are all about!

Collect Feature

Land at least 1 cash symbol just reel 1 or 2 (without any other cash symbols on the other reel)  together with the collect symbol on reel 3 for the self-explanatory Collect feature. This awards you with the values found on the cash symbols. If the collect symbol holds a multiplier then this will be applied to the total of the cash symbols’ values before awarding you with the final payout. If this multiplier feature takes place then it may also randomly trigger the Respins feature. 

Respins Feature

The Respins feature may be randomly triggered in two ways - one, as mentioned above, during the Collect feature when a multiplier is activated or by landing a collect symbol without any coins in view. It’s also triggered by landing a cash symbol on both reels 1 and 2 plus the collect on reel 3. Here the game turns full hold and spin, as you get 3 respins with which to land as many more cash or collect symbols as possible. Landing at least 1 cash or collect symbol resets the respins back to 3, so the round ends once you run out of respins.

Lucky Fortune Tree is a fine enough mobile-first slot but… that’s just it, really. Admittedly it’s clearly a game designed for a few spins while on the go, as it’s in no way suitable for long-term play, but there are still superior alternatives for such quick and dirty thrills. Again, it’s perfectly fine, but we need more if we’re going to be impressed these days, especially when Japanese pachinko-style slots are readily available and complete with more impressive bonus features.
