Masters of Olympus features a clean, cartoony look that sets the reels between a pair of Greek-style marble columns. The animated form of Zeus can be found on the left-hand side of the screen, while the all-important spin button is in the bottom right. The background, as you might expect, is the home of the Greek gods, Mount Olympus, and it makes for a spectacular sight! 

The reels hold 8 different paying symbols - the gods Athena, Ares, Apollo, and Aphrodite, who act as the high pays, and the heart, spade, club, and diamond low pays. The lightning bolt wilds can substitute for all symbols except the bonus scatters found on reels 1, 3 and 5. Land all 3 for either the Olympus or Spartan bonus round.

Masters of Olympus features a full stack of bonus features based around the respin concept. Let’s see what they involve. 

Zeus Respins

Zeus collects any wilds landed on the reels. This collection can randomly trigger the Zeus Respins feature. This has the wilds in view expand to fill the entire reel before they lock in place for a respin. Following this the wilds drop by one position before another respin starts. If another wild lands during this then it will also expand to fill the reel. This means the respins continue until there are no more visible wilds on the reels. 

Paying symbols can get a coin overlay during the Zeus Respins. These coins are collected and, if you get 3, these will trigger the Olympus or Spartan bonus round if you manage to fill the Spartan Booster. 

Spartan Booster. 

You’ll notice the Spartan Booster shield found on the right-hand side of the reels. Land scatters on reels 1 and 3 and these will fill its meter. Once full the Spartan Booster will award you with the Spartan bonus round once you land 3 scatters on the reels. The Spartan Bonus is identical to the Olympus Bonus but adds an extra spin and increased chances of gods and hot spots. 

Olympus Bonus

The Olympus Bonus is a hold and spin-style round triggered by landing the 3 scatters on reels 1, 3, and 5. You get 3 respins as well as 3 random silver or golden shields on the reels. Shields hold multiplier values, and the aim is to land as many as possible during the round. In addition to these you’ll find gods on the reels. Land one for its modifier: 

• Poseidon - Expands the reels by 1 row down. You can land a total of 2 Poseidon symbols during the round. 
• Aphrodite - Boosts the values on all shields landed on that spin with a multiplier. 
• Ares -  Collects the values on all symbols in view when landed. 
• Athena - Locks in place and collects the values of all symbols on the reels on each spin. 
• Zeus  - Adds a multiplier value to all symbols on each spin. 
• Apollo - Adds a multiplier value to all symbols once. 
• Hades - Reactivates all Apollo and Ares symbols that may have landed before. 

During the round random positions may get a Hot Spot. This is a place where symbols other than shields are more likely to land. 

The Olympus bonus round ends once you run out of respins, which is when the values on all symbols are added up and the total applied as a multiplier to your current bet.

Masters of Olympus brings plenty of win potential - not to mention multiple bonus rounds - to great effect on its 5 reels and 4 rows. The high volatility leads to exciting spins, while the 20,000x max spin is nothing to sneeze at. In fact our one complaint is the variable RTP, so as we said always check the Info section before committing because you may find this game running with an RTP as low as 86.89%. But other than that this is a must play, especially for fans of either games themed around the Greek myths or hold and spin-style bonus features.
