Hold and Spin

Hold and Spin is the primary feature in Monopoly Megapots. It triggers when six or more Coins, Houses, or Cards land in any position on the reels. Three respins begin. Each qualifying symbol becomes an individual reel, revealing additional Coins, Houses, or Cards during those respins. Every time a new symbol lands, the respin counter resets to three. The feature ends when the counter reaches zero or the grid fills.

Hotel Formation

When four Houses appear on the grid during Hold and Spin, they merge into a Hotel. The Hotel then collects the total value of all Coins currently showing on screen and applies a random multiplier between x2 and x200. Hotel Formation can fire multiple times in a single Hold and Spin sequence if enough Houses land.

Megapots

Three Megapots, Mini, Midi, and Mega, are displayed above the reels throughout the game. Their values update constantly as you play. During Hold and Spin, landing three matching coloured Cards creates the corresponding Megapots icon (Mini, Midi, or Mega). Collecting that icon awards the jackpot value shown at the moment of collection. The Megapots are the largest prizes the game offers and can only be won during Hold and Spin.

Free Spins

Three or more Train Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels trigger Free Spins: 3 Scatters award 10 Free Spins, with each additional Scatter beyond the third adding 2 more spins. During Free Spins, a win multiplier begins at x1 and increases by 1 every time a Coin, House, or Card lands on the reels. There is no ceiling on the multiplier, it accumulates for the entire Free Spins sequence. Scatters landing during the feature retrigger additional spins; three Scatters retrigger 5 more, four Scatters retrigger 10 more. Hold and Spin can also trigger during Free Spins, with the accumulated multiplier applying to any prizes collected.

Monopoly Megapots earns its licence. Big Time Gaming has not simply dropped the Monopoly brand on a generic slot: the Coins, Houses and Hotels feed directly into the mechanic, so the board game logic is embedded in the gameplay rather than applied as decoration. The Hotel Formation multiplier (up to x200) and the three Megapots jackpots give the Hold and Spin feature multiple things to play for simultaneously, which is more layered than most Hold and Spin titles. The Free Spins unlimited multiplier adds a second route to significant wins without doubling up on the same mechanic. A near-100,000x maximum win of 98,850x puts the ceiling firmly in headline territory. The one honest caveat: the £10 maximum stake is a real restriction that shuts out any player who plays above that level.
