Are you familiar with Mystery of the Lamp? This is a long-running slot series from industry veteran IGT that counts over a dozen titles in both online game and physical cabinet formats. One of its latest entries, Secret Bazaar throws the now popular collection pot mechanic into the mix. But is that all? Learn all by reading our full Mystery of the Lamp Secret Bazaar review, of course!

IGT slots tend to be on the classic side, and Mystery of the Lamp Secret Bazaar does not buck this trend. As such it features 5 reels, 3 rows, and exactly 5 fixed paylines formed by landing 3 (or in the case of the high pays) symbols on adjacent reels. Paylines always start from the leftmost reel, moving from left to right.
As far as we can tell IGT hasn’t shared any RTP information on Mystery of the Lamp Secret Bazaar. If we were to guess, the RTP of the slot game lies somewhere around the 96% average, so we think Secret Bazaar has a similar RTP. The same goes for the volatility, but from our testing we’ve found this to be quite high. Bets start from £0.08, and you can set your stake using the controls found underneath the first reel.
There are lots of different online casinos where you can play Mystery of the Lamp Secret Bazaar. Here is my pick of the best slot sites:
Mystery of the Lamp Secret Bazaar started off as a cabinet designed for casino floors. Such an environment demands bright and distinctive visuals, explaining this game’s colour palette based around reds and yellows. The setting is indeed the titular bazaar, with Arabian music bringing about quite the atmosphere as you spin the dark red reels.
There are 10 paying symbols on the reels - the high-paying bracelet, bottle of oil, pomegranate, and golden tableware, and the low-paying A, K, Q, J, 10, and 9 card royals. The flying carpet found on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5 is the wild which can substitute for all symbols except the scatters. There are 3 of these, which are gems in red, blue, and white. Scatters are collected in the jars of the same colour to randomly trigger their specific bonus feature. We’ll detail what these features involve further on in this review.
In the meantime let’s check the values of the paying symbols:
While it was designed for physical cabinets the online version of Mystery of the Lamp Secret Bazaar was built using HTML5. This means mobile compatibility right in your device’s internet browser without need for any additional downloads or software. As such you don’t need to visit a casino to play Mystery of the Lamp Secret Bazaar.

Mystery of the Lamp Secret Bazaar’s bonus features are based around the currently trending bonus pot mechanic. There are 3 of these, each with its own feature.
Wilds on the reels can appear with a 2x multiplier which will be applied to the payouts of winning combinations the wild makes part of. In case of more than one wilds then their multipliers will be multiplied with each other up to a maximum of 16x.
Scatters that hit the reels are collected in the vase of the same colour, namely red, blue or white. This can randomly break the jar, triggering the bonus feature with a unique modifier. Multiple jars can break at the same time, in which case their features will be combined.
The Mystery of the Lamp round is a hold and spin-style feature where you get 3 respins with which to land coins on the reels. Coins have cash values and lock on the reels when landed. In addition landing a coin resets the number of respins back to 3, so the round ends once you run out of respins.
We’ve mentioned how each gem adds its modifier to this round. These are as follows:
The feature can be triggered by the breaking of more than 1 jars, in which case the modifiers are combined. If the feature is triggered by all 3 jars breaking then all modifiers are applied to a round played on 5 reels each 6 rows tall.

Mystery of the Lamp Secret Bazaar might be a new slot but it still has the old school feel of many IGT slots. This might be nostalgic for some, but younger players might simply find the game unimpressive, if not outright creaky. After all this is a 10-payline game with relatively low win potential, even if it does include the bonus pot feature that’s the hottest thing in slots at the time of writing. The end result is decent enough, but it might be the case that it actually plays better in an actual casino cabinet as opposed to an internet browser.
