ELK Studios is going back underwater for a third round, and this time the series feels a bit sharper. In our Oxygen 3 slot review, we will cover a sequel that is still built around cluster wins and persistent position multipliers. But the feature package has been tightened up, the max win has climbed to 25,000x, and the whole thing feels more comfortable in its own skin now. You have avalanches, big symbols, multiplier bubbles, random multiplier strikes, Clam features, three Wild types, two bonus variants, and ELK’s usual X-iter menu. That sounds like a lot but the good news is that most of it pushes in the same direction: build the grid, raise position multipliers, and try to turn one decent hit into a much bigger follow-up.

Oxygen 3 uses a 6x7 grid with Cluster Pays, so you need at least 5 matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically to form a win. Once a cluster lands, the Avalanche mechanic removes those symbols, the rest drop down, and fresh ones fall in from above. That part is standard enough for a grid slot game, but Oxygen 3 makes it matter more because every winning position can start building its own multiplier bubble for the rest of the sequence.
The betting range runs from £0.20 to £100, which is wide enough for both cautious sessions and bigger feature chasing. RTP comes in multiple versions, topping out at 96%, with lower variants at 94% and 92%. That is not unusual these days, but it still means you should check the active version before settling in. Volatility sits in the medium-high range, which feels about right. This is not a total bankroll shredder, but it definitely leans more towards spike wins than steady comfort. The max win is 25,000x, which gives the feature stack enough room to justify all the extra machinery.
There are lots of different online casinos where you can play Oxygen 3. Here is my pick of the best slot sites:
The setting is one of the better things here. Oxygen 3 takes place in a drowned future where bits of human civilisation have ended up underwater, and coral has started claiming everything back. You get ruined pillars, submerged infrastructure, bright reefs, and cartoon sea life swimming through what looks like the leftovers of a much grander world. It sounds slightly grim on paper, but visually it is colourful and oddly cheerful.
The lower-paying symbols are three coral types, while the premiums are three fish colours plus an octopus at the top of the paytable. Big Symbols can appear in 2x2, 3x3, or 4x4 form, which helps inflate cluster sizes quickly when the grid is cooperating. The art is polished in that very ELK way, crisp and a bit glossy without becoming sterile. Audio is strong too. It has enough atmosphere to sell the underwater setting without getting noisy for the sake of it.

Oxygen 3 works well on mobile, which matters because a 6x7 cluster slot with position multipliers can turn unreadable very quickly if the scaling is poor. Thankfully, the symbols are clear, the multiplier bubbles are easy enough to follow, and the Clam and Wild effects remain readable even when the screen gets busy.
It is still a dense slot, though. On mobile, you need to be slightly more switched on than you would with some simpler ELK releases. That is not a flaw, just the price of playing a feature-heavy grid game on a smaller screen. If you like keeping track of what is actually happening, it holds up well.

Oxygen 3 throws a lot at you, but most of it is built around one useful idea: make positions more valuable the longer a sequence lives.
Winning clusters disappear, symbols above drop down, and new symbols fall in. If another cluster forms, the process repeats. This is the basic engine of the slot and the reason all the multiplier-building mechanics can actually do something useful.
Big Symbols
Any paying symbol can appear in larger 2x2, 3x3, or 4x4 form. These count as the number of individual symbols they contain, which makes them very useful in a cluster game where size matters more than line shape.
Whenever a winning cluster lands, all positions it covers get marked with Oxygen Bubbles. If one of those marked spots gets used in a later win during the same Avalanche chain, it receives a 2x multiplier. If that same position gets hit again, the multiplier doubles again. If multiple bubbled positions are part of one win, their values are added together before being applied.
Multiplier Strike can also appear at the start of a spin or after a drop, placing one or more pre-marked multiplier clusters on the grid. That is a strong feature because it can make a promising screen look much healthier before the real action even begins.
Clams are Wilds, but if one becomes part of a winning cluster, it triggers one of three modifiers.
This is probably the feature family that gives the slot most of its personality. It is not just “here is another Wild.” Each Clam outcome can push the board in a different direction.
There are three Wild types besides the Clam itself. Regular Wilds substitute for standard symbols. Exploding Wilds remove symbols in a cone-shaped area. Blaster Wilds convert symbols in a plus or X pattern into matching instances, and if a symbol gets converted a second time, it becomes a Wild.
Landing 3 Bonus symbols anywhere on the grid triggers the regular Bonus. If one of those symbols is a Super Bonus, you get the enhanced version instead. In both, Oxygen Bubbles stay persistent between spins, and an Oxygen Meter fills with every win. Once full, it upgrades a multiplier cluster on the grid. In the Super Bonus, that upgrade covers a larger area, which is where the real damage can happen.
This feature is where the slot’s multiplier system gets properly dangerous, because carrying bubble progress between drops makes every decent setup worth more.

ELK’s usual X-iter menu is here too:
Oxygen 3 is one of those sequels that does not radically change the series, but still improves it in practical ways. The multiplier bubble system remains the centrepiece, and it still works well because it creates a clear sense of momentum. You can actually feel when a sequence is becoming dangerous. Add in the Clam features, the stronger bonus structure, and the return to a 96% top RTP, and this feels like the most complete version of the Oxygen formula so far.
From my side, the main drawback is simply that Oxygen 3 can be a bit much. It is not hard to understand in broad terms, but there is a lot happening on screen once several features start colliding, especially on mobile. Still, if you like cluster slots with layered mechanics and a proper top-end ceiling, this is one of the more worthwhile recent ELK releases. It is not trying to be cute or effortless. It wants you to pay attention, and for the most part, that effort gets rewarded.
I landed on a 7.5 because Oxygen 3 is clever, polished, and genuinely rewarding when its mechanics start lining up, but it is also a slot that asks a fair bit from you. The multiplier bubble system is strong, the Clam modifiers give it some real character, and the 25,000x max win plus 96% top RTP make it easier to take seriously than a lot of modern feature-heavy slots. What stops it climbing higher is that the experience can feel crowded, and at times slightly too busy for its own good. Still, this is a good sequel and probably the best Oxygen game so far.
