An ancient history setting does not mean ancient visuals, as Wonder of Ages clearly demonstrates. The background appears to combine Egypt and Babylon, as we have the pyramids on one side and the Tower of Babel on another. On this scene you’’ll find the semi-transparent reels, which hold the game’s various symbols. 

The slot game uses 10 different paying symbols. Of these 6 are historical characters, namely the Roman emperor, Babylonian king, Cleopatra, Pharaoh, Genghis Kahn, and King Leonidas. Land a full line of 5 different historical characters for a payout. The vase is the one mid pay, while the I, II, and III symbols are low pays. The “W” wild can substitute for all symbols except the scatter, which is the Wonder of Ages symbol. Landing at least 3 of these anywhere on the reels awards you with the bonus feature.

Landing 3 or more scatters anywhere on the reels triggers the bonus features. This starts with a coin picking round. Reveal 3 matching symbols  to activate the corresponding free spins round. There are four of these in total which are as follows:

• Empire of Rome Free Spins - 9 free spins with stacked wilds on reel 3.
•  Wonder of Egypt Free Spins - 9 free spins where up to 5 random symbols can turn into wilds on each spin. 
• Rise of Greece Free Spins - 9 free spins with a progressive multiplier. This starts at 1x and grows by +1 with every 3 spins. The centre position of reel 3 also has a locked wild.

Slots based on various historical eras, such as Egyptian or Roman, are a dime a dozen, which makes Blueprint’s approach with Wonder of Ages pretty unique. What about a slot about all of the notable points in ancient history? This actually works pretty well, making for a unique game that takes advantage of the subject matter in its free spins feature. This, added to the always attractive Jackpot King feature, makes for a fun enough slot with solid win potential, if one with a lower than average RTP and sometimes disappointing volatility.
