Yogi Bear Slot Review

Inspired by the renowned Hanna-Barbera cartoon, the Yogi Bear slot is set in Jellystone Park and showcases all the legendary characters alongside its instantly recognisable artistic style. The ‘Pic-a-Nic’ trail is above the reels, which are framed by logs. To the left are the jackpot rewards.

Casual gamers and cartoon fans like the bright, uncomplicated layout and all the classic characters are present and correct, like Ranger Smith, Boo Boo, and Cindy Bear.

Spins are well animated with sounds to match, such as Yogi's laugh on a winning spin.

The slot will display a looping reel of extra features after loading. You must click or tap the screen to play the gam, as there are no ‘x’ or ‘skip’ buttons (do not end up like me and watch this cycle multiple times waiting for it to change on its own!)

The full paytable for the Yogi Bear slot is as follows;

• J and K: Pays 0.5, 1, and 5x total stake for 3, 4, or 5 matching symbols, respectively.

• Q and A: Pays 0.5, 2, and 7.5x total stake for 3, 4, or 5 matching symbols, respectively.

• Collect Symbol: Is Yogi Bear himself and only appears on reel 5, and can appear stacked up to 3 symbols high.

• Bonus Symbol: Looks like Yogi and Boo Boo feasting on Pizza and ice cream. It only appears on reels 2-4 and is used to trigger the free spins bonus.

• Super Bonus Symbol: Looks like Cindy Bear kissing Boo Boo and only appears on reel 4.
• Mystery Symbol: Looks like a stack of chocolate pancakes, and when landed during the base game,e will transform into any non-special gameplay symbol.

Get ready, because as is typical with Blueprints-branded slots, the Yogi Bear slot has more bonus features than could be packed into the largest picnic basket.

Modifiers

Reel modifiers can activate during any Spin. There are three types: Bonus Boost, Wild Add, and Collect Boost.

• Boost Bonus: Adds extra scatters to the reels.
• Wild Boost: Places wild symbols in random reel positions.
• Collect Boost: Upgrades the current Collect Symbol.

Cash Collect

Yogi Bear is the Cash Collect Symbol. Appearing on reel 5 (plus reel 1 if ‘Dual-Collect’ is unlocked) when a collect symbol lands on the reels at the same time as symbol(s) with cash values attached, they are collected and their total awarded to the player.

Feature Trail

Each collected symbol you land will contribute to the feature trail found above the reels. Once a feature is unlocked, it remains that way. The available features are as follows:

• Respin Collect: Unlocks after 1 Collect Symbol and locks any collect and cash symbols in place while the rest of the reels respin until no new cash symbols appear.

• Mystery Symbol: Unlocks after 4 Collect Symbols. Whenever a mystery symbol lands on the reels, it will turn into a randomly selected base game symbol.

• Chomp Collect: Unlocks after 6 Collect Symbols. Yogi will collect all current cash symbols on the reels as usual, but will then consume all non-special symbols. This process repeats as long as new cash or Collect Symbols are landed.

• Dual Collect: Unlocks after 10 Collect Symbols. This allows Collect symbols to start appearing on reel 1 in addition to reel 5.

• Super Bonus: Unlocks with 14 Collect Symbols and adds a special Super Bonus symbol to reel 4, which is used to grant players access to the Super Bonus feature.

• Power Play: Requires 18 Collect Icons and unlocks the Power Play feature.

Free Spins

3 bonus symbols on reels 2-4 activate 10 spins. Any unlocked feature stays active in this bonus. Landing 3, 6, 9, and 12 Collect symbols awards 5 more games with x2, x3, x5, x10 multipliers for any gathered values.

Super Bonus

The super Bonus Scatter symbol appears exclusively on reel 4 and is unlocked with 14 Collect Symbols. To activate the Super Bonus, land the normal bonus scatter symbol on reels 2 and 3 and a Super Bonus Scatter symbol on reel 4. The Super Bonus has two parts, which start with 10 Bonus Spins and move on to the PIC-A-NIC Payday Bonus. 

PIC-A-NIC Payday Bonus

The Bonus Spins Collect Multiplier transfers to Pic-A-Nic Payday. Played over 3 spins, all values rolled during the bonus are multiplied, and the only icons on these spins are Collect and cash ones. An additional bonus of 100x the stake is awarded for filling all reel spaces.

Power Play

Complete the Collect Trail to unlock this option. Playing costs 5x the regular wager, but only cash prize, Collect, mystery, and both bonus scatter symbols show. All unlocked features function in Power Play. Mystery symbols only disclose cash symbols during Power Play, and only two bonus scatter symbols on reels 2-3 and a Super Bonus on reel 4 trigger the Super Bonus.

I was a Fox Kids girl, not a Cartoon Network or Hanna-Barbera fan, but I think the Yogi Bear slot will tap into childhood nostalgia for lots of players. Blueprint Gaming excels in creating branded slots, and this one is sure to be a hit with its large number of on-theme bonuses and on-point visual design and character roster.

While I wish the RTP was a little higher, the Yogi Bear slot still gets a sweet-as-honey rating of 9/10 from me.
