888poker PFL Partnership
888poker has been revealed as an official partner of the Professional Fighters League (PFL) for the upcoming European Championships in Dublin, Ireland, on December 8th.
As part of the deal, 888poker’s branding will be visible on the PFL SmartCage during the show, and the operator’s branding will also be visible on PFL’s social media channels and platforms in the build-up to the event.
A Rising Star
The PFL is one of the fastest-growing sports divisions in the world. The Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia has bought a minority stake in the division, which is preparing to launch its first Super Fight event in the first quarter of 2024.
The PFL has grabbed headlines throughout 2023, completing the signings of star attractions like Jake Paul and Francis Ngannou. The company has also been pushing for an MMA showdown between Ngannou and Deontay Wilder following the former’s successful crossover into boxing in Riyadh this October.
The vision for the company is to create six mini-MMA leagues around the world, creating what it has described as the ‘Champions League of MMA’. The PFL European Championship will take place on December 8th and will be headlined by Simeon Powell vs Jakob Ndeoh for the Light Heavyweight Championship.
Elsewhere on the card, Dakota Ditcheva will face Valentina Scatizzi for the Women’s Flyweight Championship.
Sponsored Events
As part of the deal, 888poker will host activities using the PFL fighters in the lead-up to the event. These activities will appeal to both poker players and MMA fans.
Amit Berkovich, VP head of Poker and MD ROW, 888 William Hill, described the sponsorship deal as a ‘unique opportunity’, saying that they were looking forward to their journey ahead and working together on innovative projects.
He added that the two companies share a mutual passion for entertainment and a commitment to providing first-class experiences for fans of both poker and MMA.
