Lead Partner
The World Snooker Tour has announced that Unibet will be its new lead partner for the upcoming British Open snooker tournament.
The event is set to take place in the last week of September and promises to put plenty of eyes on Unibet’s products.
Exciting Format
The British Open is one of the most exciting snooker tournaments of the year. As well as the UK being largely seen as the home of snooker, the tournament also uses an FA-Cup-style unseeded knockout system. All games are determined by a random draw, which means that the audience could potentially see big-name clashes from the very first-round.
The qualifying games for the tournament begin on August 31st in Leicester, and the main tournament finals will take place in Cheltenham from September 23rd to 29th.
Mark Williams was the winner of last year’s tournament, beating Mark Selby 10-8 in the final. Major names from across the snooker world will be in competition in Cheltenham, including Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump, Mark Allen, and many more.
The event’s unpredictable format makes it a popular tournament for bettors. The deal will see Unibet’s branding featured throughout the tournament, which will be broadcast live on ITV in the UK.

In a statement, Unibet described themselves as being proud of the new partnership, highlighting the tournament’s rich heritage and impressive lineup.
