This week sees the sixth and final round of Champions League group-stage action taking place with Groups A-D enjoying centre stage on Tuesday night.
Six of the eight qualifying places from those four sections have already been secured with Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Arsenal already confirmed for the knockout stage.
But that means two last-16 places are up for grabs with a couple of winner-takes-all showdowns between FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray in Group A and Napoli and Braga in Group C to look forward to.
There is also a fascinating clash in Group D between last season's finalists Inter Milan and Real Sociedad at the San Siro to determine first and second place going into the draw for the knockout stage on December 18.
- Lens vs Sevilla draw
- Salzburg vs Benfica over 2.5 goals
- Manchester United to beat Bayern Munich
- FC Copenhagen vs Galatasaray over 3.5 goals
Lens vs Sevilla
The early kick-offs on Tuesday come from Group B, with Lens and Sevilla locking horns in northern France in a match which has Europa League, rather than Champions League ramifications.
These two clubs will finish third and fourth in the section with Lens on five points and heading into the Europa League in the spring as it stands. Sevilla, on two points, need to win at Stade Felix Bollaert to pip them for third spot on their head-to-head record.
Given Sevilla's love affair with the Europa League – they have won it a record seven times and are the reigning champions – they can be expected to have a right go at Lens in a bid to qualify.
The problem, however, is that they are in simply dismal form, their only wins in almost three months being a pair of Copa del Rey triumphs over lower-league opposition. And Saturday's 1-0 loss at Mallorca left them 16th in La Liga.
A change of manager has made absolutely no difference and they head for Lens minus a number of injured first-team stars plus the suspended duo of Fernando and Luis Ocampo.
Lens, who couldn't buy a win at the start of the season, are now on a ten-match unbeaten run in Ligue 1 with their only losses coming on their travels at PSV and Arsenal in the Champions League.
Franck Haise's men are confident and in a match which is all about game management for them, take them to get the draw they require to stay in Europe.
Salzburg vs Benfica
It's now or nothing for several teams on Tuesday night, including Benfica who need to win in Salzburg – and win well – to pip the Austrians to third place in Group D and a Europa League berth.
Salzburg's matches so far have all been low scorers but this might be the night that run is ended with a desperate Benfica set to ensure there are plenty of goals, probably at both ends.
You need only look back a fortnight to see what Benfica are capable of. Three goals ahead at half-time at home to Inter Milan, they were flying in front of their own fans. By the 72nd minute it was 3-3 and those same fans were left wondering what had happened.
Incredibly, that was Benfica's first point after four blanks over the first four rounds, a dismal campaign which started with a 2-0 home loss to Salzburg in September.
But that point against Inter does at least give them a shot at the Europa League and they are a free-scoring side, who will go for broke from the off at the Red Bull Arena.
Salzburg will look to stay calm but the Austrian Bundesliga's top scorers won't spurn opportunities as the game opens up, as it surely has to.
There are several matches this week which look potential goalfests, and this is certainly one of them.
Manchester United vs Bayern Munich
There has been plenty of wound-licking going on in Manchester and Munich over the past few days as United and Bayern endeavour to recover from weekend maulings.
These former European champs go into their Group A finale at Old Trafford having been clattered on Saturday, United losing 3-0 at home to Bournemouth and Bayern going down 5-1 at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Both could do with a big performance though only United need a result, and they merit the interest.
Bayern have serenely cruised to the top of the section and definitely took their foot off the gas at home to Copenhagen in the fifth round of games. They had already qualified and they drew 0-0.
It's hard to believe Thomas Tuchel won't make changes given their Sunday showdown with fellow Bundesliga highflyers Stuttgart, and with no obvious incentive to go for a positive result United are worth a bet.
FC Copenhagen vs Galatasaray
FC Copenhagen go into their crunch clash with Galatasaray following a 0-0 draw with Bayern Munich in round five, but don't expect a blank at the Parken Stadion against Galatasaray.
"It's going to be crazy", said Copenhagen midfielder Rasmus Falk, and certainly the ingredients are there for some fireworks.
Copenhagen and Gala are level on points in second and third in Group A and a low-scoring draw would see the Danes stay above Galatasaray. A draw may, however, not be enough for them to qualify if Manchester United beat Bayern in the night's other tie in the group.
Gala need a high-scoring draw (3-3 or better) or a win to jump above Copenhagen but clearly, with a United win a possibility, surely neither Copenhagen nor the Turks will be playing for draws.
The first match between these sides was a 2-2 thriller with Galatasaray coming from two goals down late on to snatch a point.
And the Turkish side's matches have produced 22 goals at 4.4 goals per match so don't expect them to go into their shells now. This could be an absolute thriller.
