The PGA Tour is in Illinois this week with the John Deere Classic taking place at TPC Deere Run – an event won by J.T Poston 12 months ago.
Americans have dominated this tournament over the years, with US golfers finishing top of the leaderboard in 14 of the last 15 editions.
With many of the world’s top stars taking a break this week ahead of the forthcoming Open Championship, another home success looks to be on the cards in 2023.
- Taylor Moore to win and each way
- Chez Reavie to win and each way
- Dylan Wu top-ten finish
Taylor Primed For Moore Success
Taylor Moore has had to deal with ups and downs over the last few months, but he looks to be back on track and seeking his second win on the PGA Tour this year.
Moore won the Valspar Championship back in March, which he followed up with a top-40 finish at the Masters and T11 and T4 finishes at the RBC Heritage and Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
There are often fine margins on Tour and that was highlighted by three consecutive missed cuts, at the Charles Schwab Challenge, US Open and Travelers Championship.
Moore wasn’t far off the mark in those three events and proved it with a T4 finish in last week’s Rocket Mortgage Classic – which included an opening-round 64.
The 29-year-old also enjoyed a decent week at last year’s John Deere Classic, in which he was T24 after finishing on 11-under-par.
Moore is ranked 15th in the Tour putting stats and 18th in scrambling and having moved into the top-20 of the FedEx Cup standings, he will have one eye on a potential Ryder Cup place.

Reavie edging closer to a fourth win
Reavie Getting Closer
Chez Reavie is enjoying a successful year on Tour and looks to be getting closer to securing a fourth professional victory.
Since April, the man from Kansas has missed just one cut in ten starts and has secured two top-tens and three top-30 finishes during that run.
Reavie was T4 at the Travelers Championship two weeks ago and followed that with a T29 spot at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, which included a third-round 65.
His recent run of form has seen him move back inside the top 75 players in the world and he is in a much better place with his game heading to Illinois.
The 41-year-old missed the cut at Deere Run last year but consistency off the tee has seen his form rise in recent months, with Reavie currently ranked ninth in Total Driving Efficiency.

Wu in decent form
Wu On The Right Track
One man still seeking his first PGA Tour victory is Dylan Wu, but the 26-year-old has shown some decent form over the last couple of months.
Wu has only one top-ten finish to his name this season – that came in the Honda Classic in February.
His last four tournaments have seen Wu finish T25-T32-CUT-T24 and he would have finished inside the top 20 last week but for a frustrating final round.
A 74 on Sunday in Detroit ended a run of five sub-70 rounds in a row and a final-round 66 in this tournament last year should help further boost his confidence.
