NFL Betting Tips - Week 12

NFL Betting Tips - Week 12

Thanksgiving is upon us and with it comes a feast of NFL action. There are no byes in Week 12, so there is a 16-game slate to choose from for our accumulator.

This week’s five-strong acca features some of the week’s biggest matchups, including the Buffalo Bills clash against the Philadelphia Eagles and the AFC East battle between the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets.

Recommended five-fold: Over 48.5 points in Washington @ Dallas, under 40 points in Miami @ New York, 49ers -6.5, Broncos -2.5, Bills +3.5

- Over 48.5 points in Washington Commanders @ Dallas Cowboys

- Under 40 points in Miami Dolphins @ New York Jets

- San Francisco 49ers -6.5 @ Seattle Seahawks

- Denver Broncos -2.5 vs Cleveland Browns

- Buffalo Bills +3.5 @ Philadelphia Eagles

Commanders @ Cowboys

The Washington Commanders are under pressure going into Week 12 of the NFL season after losing 31-19 to the New York Giants last time out.

Washington turned the ball over six times in that game and face a much tougher challenge on Thanksgiving as they visit the 7-3 Dallas Cowboys.

Dallas are 4-0 at home and are the top scorers in the NFC with 302 points. They should be able to take advantage of a Commanders defence who have allowed the most passing touchdowns of any team in the NFL, with 24.

Washington’s Sam Howell had a disappointing game against the Giants as he threw three interceptions but the young gunslinger still has the most passing yards in the league, wih 3,038.

The Commanders can contribute to a high-scoring clash.

Eight of the Cowboys' last nine home games have gone over the total and this looks set to continue that trend.

OVER 48.5 POINTS

Dolphins @ Jets

The New York Jets’ season continues its downward spiral as they come off a 32-6 loss to the Buffalo Bills last week.

Zach Wilson was benched in the third quarter and head coach Robert Saleh has announced that Tim Boyle will start this Black Friday clash against the Miami Dolphins.

The Jets offence has been among the worst in the NFL this season, their 10 touchdowns scored is five fewer than any other team and they also have the worst third-down conversion rate in the league.

By contrast, the Jets defence has been rock solid. Only three teams have given up fewer passing yards and they may be able to stifle the Dolphins aerial threats in this game.

Miami’s offence has scored more than 20 points only once in the last four games and they could be contained again.

However it is unlikely that the Jets will be able to turn around their poor performing offence in just a single week and under the points total looks the sensible play.

UNDER 40 POINTS

Wilson benched for Tim Boyle this weekend

49ers @ Seahawks

The San Francisco 49ers have bounced back in style from losing three games in a row with back-to-back impressive victories against the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brock Purdy became the first San Francisco quarterback since Joe Montana to record the highest possible passer rating against the Bucs last week, throwing for 333 yards and three touchdowns in the process.

The 49ers also have a rock solid record against divisional opponents, having won their last nine matchups against their NFC West rivals.

To add to that, San Francisco have covered the spread in four of their last five games against NFC West opponents and are fancied to repeat the trick here.

The Seattle Seahawks go into the game following a narrow 17-16 defeat to the Los Angeles Rams in which quarterback Geno Smith was banged up.

He won’t have had much time to recover for this clash and Seattle will also be without Kenneth Walker in the backfield.

The Seahawks also gave up a whopping 12 penalties for 130 yards in their loss to the Rams and anything near a repeat of that would leave them extremely vulnerable against the 49ers’ purring offence.

Take San Francisco to cover the handicap and keep up their impressive record against their NFC West rivals.

49ERS -6.5

Browns @ Broncos

The Cleveland Browns managed to overcome the loss of their quarterback Deshaun Watson against the Pittsburgh Steelers last time out, riding a strong defensive performance to a 13-10 victory.

However they look unlikely to repeat the trick when they face the in-form Denver Broncos, who have won four games in a row.

Three of those four wins came against teams with winning records so they have been beating solid competition, including the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson completed just 24 of his 43 attempts for one interception and 165 yards on Sunday and that won’t be enough against a veteran like Russell Wilson.

Only Josh Allen and Tua Tagovailoa have thrown more touchdowns than Wilson’s 19 this season and he is likely to win the quarterback duel with this rookie.

The Broncos’ defence have impressed recently and they can play their part in what should be a home success for Denver.

The Browns are 2-2 on the road and could be vulnerable, take the Broncos to cover the spread.

BRONCOS -2.5

Bills @ Eagles

The Buffalo Bills got back on track with an impressive win over the New York Jets in Week 11 and they will need to carry that form over into this clash against the Philadelphia Eagles, who cemented their position as the team with the best record in the NFL by beating the Kansas City Chiefs 21-17 on Monday Night Football.

The Bills have a solid recent record against NFC teams, winning four of their last five clashes, and the Eagles’ offence was not electric against the Chiefs.

Jalen Hurts had just 150 yards passing and threw for an interception, and this may not be a high-scoring game.

Take the Bills to keep it close and cover the spread in this week’s blockbuster clash.
