Premier League Betting Tips – Matchday 11, Saturday

There are six Premier League games taking place on Saturday afternoon, prior to Arsenal's visit to Newcastle for the televised evening fixture.

City host Bournemouth at the Etihad and the champions can be expected to run riot, while City's struggling neighbours Manchester United have an ideal opportunity to get back to winning ways at Fulham.

Fulham vs Manchester United

Manchester United fans left Old Trafford bewildered again on Wednesday night, having witnessed a 3-0 home defeat to Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup, and pressure is mounting on Erik ten Hag.

The Red Devils are under fire from all directions – the media are fixated on the troubles at Old Trafford – and United's odds for their trip to Fulham on Saturday are getting bigger by the second. Shrewd punters will be blocking out the narrative and the noise, waiting to take advantage of the much juicier odds about an away win at Craven Cottage in the lunchtime fixture.

For all United's recent challenges, they remain in a different class to Fulham, and the fact that the away side have much better players than Fulham should be the main factor in assessing the fixture.

Ten Hag has spent £411m on new signings since he took charge at Old Trafford at the start of last season - Chelsea are the only Premier League side who have spent more money in that period - and United have recruited some top-class talent. They are underperforming, but the potential is rich.

Fulham, meanwhile, have scored only four home goals this season, so if United can settle quickly at Craven Cottage and let their attacking quality shine through, they will have a golden opportunity for three points.

MANCHESTER UNITED TO WIN

Brentford vs West Ham

Stamford Bridge was silenced by an incredible Brentford effort last Saturday and Bees fans could be buzzing again after another London derby this weekend.

Brentford took everything Chelsea could throw at them at the Bridge, launching two counter attacks to triumph 2-0, winning back-to-back Premier League fixtures for the first time this season.

Brentford beat Burnley 3-0 prior to defeating Chelsea, so for the first time in Brentford's Premier League history they have enjoyed successive clean sheets.

With West Ham potentially jaded from their Carabao Cup win over Arsenal, Brentford's hot streak can continue.

BRENTFORD TO WIN

Manchester City vs Bournemouth

Manchester City versus Bournemouth appears one of the biggest mismatches in recent Premier League history, and the champions will be expected to get this game won early.

Bournemouth have been awful all season, having controversially sacked Gary O'Neil as manager, and Cherries fans are rightly fretting about a return to the Championship. Bournemouth have failed to win on the road this season and a midweek Carabao Cup defeat to Liverpool added to the feeling of misery.

Bournemouth have conceded 13 goals in their five away games this term, losing 3-0 at Everton in their last road assignment. City are refreshed from a lack of midweek fixture – and they have an easy home game against Young Boys in the Champions League on Tuesday – so there is no obvious reason why Guardiola will rest key players against the Cherries.

MANCHESTER CITY TO WIN

Burnley vs Crystal Palace

A 3-0 defeat to Everton in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night was another gutbuster for Burnley fans, and the Clarets may struggle for zest against Crystal Palace.

Palace have had eight days to prepare for their trip to Lancashire following a narrow defeat to Tottenham, so the Eagles will be fresher and will be hugely disappointed should they leave Turf Moor empty-handed.

That said, Palace have gone three games without a victory and faith in veteran manager Roy Hodgson appears to be waning among the Eagles' following. Hodgson may not take any chances at Burnley, perhaps settling for a point to cement Palace's mid-table position.

THE DRAW

Sheffield United vs Wolves

Wolves could take great pride from battling to a draw against Newcastle last time out, extending their unbeaten record in the Premier League to five matches.

Wanderers stunned Manchester City at the end of September and the Midlanders have slowly but surely got their act together after an uncertain start to the season.

While Wolves enter Matchday 11 with a degree of comfort, perched 12th in the table, their latest opponents, Sheffield United, are in all sorts of trouble. Rooted to the foot of the table with only one point from ten games, the Yorkshiremen have shipped 29 goals during a disastrous start to the campaign.

United have lost 41 of their last 51 Premier League games and a rapid return to the Championship appears on the cards. They have conceded 98 goals in those 51 games.

WOLVES TO WIN

Everton vs Brighton

Brighton have some injury concerns to deal with ahead of their trip to Everton, but the Seagulls should have fresher legs in the second half and can leave Goodison Park with a share of the spoils.

Everton are suddenly full of belief, having won three consecutive matches in all competitions, and the Toffees were thrilled by a 3-0 Carabao Cup triumph over Burnley on Wednesday.

Everton won 1-0 at West Ham last Sunday, becoming the first team this season to stop the Hammers scoring in a home game, and the Merseysiders have suddenly tightened up at the back, much to the delight of their boss Sean Dyche.

A low-scoring draw could be on the cards against a Brighton side who will be missing key attacking weapons.
