There are two interesting Premier League games on Sunday afternoon and two odds-on favourites. Aston Villa are well fancied on their trip to Nottingham Forest as Unai Emery’s side have been in fantastic form in recent weeks.
The Villans have won three matches on the bounce, scoring 11 goals in that trio of games, while they have lost only one of their last eight in all competitions.
Liverpool are also considered bankers in the match betting markets for their trip to Luton and the Reds will be looking to notch an eighth top-flight victory of the season.
Luton haven’t been completely outclassed since they arrived in the Premier League, but Saturday’s contest does look a tricky tie for the Hatters to get something from.
- Over 2.5 goals in Nottingham Forest v Aston Villa
- Over 3.5 goals in Luton v Liverpool
Forest Can Push Villa
Aston Villa are on a fantastic run and they will appeal to many punters on their trip to the City Ground on Sunday. Emery’s men have won five of their last six Premier League matches, which includes hammering Brighton 6-1, putting four goals past West Ham and defeating Luton and Crystal Palace 3-1.
It’s difficult to argue with the form Villa have been in, but they have only kept two top-flight clean sheets this season and Forest have been performing a little better than their results indicate.
Steve Cooper’s side won the shot count 12-6 at Crystal Palace and had enough chances to leave south London with three points. The Tricky Trees had 17 shots on goals when drawing 2-2 with Luton at the City Ground and that was another contest that got away from Forest.
Cooper’s men have hit six goals in their five home matches this season and they face a Villa side that have seen 27 net bulges in their last seven games. Backing over 2.5 goals looks the play on Sunday.
Hatters Could Test Reds Rearguard
Liverpool are understably a short price to win at Luton on Sunday but backing over 3.5 goals looks the best way to bet.
The Reds have hit at least three goals in seven of their 15 all-competition matches this season and Jurgen Klopp’s men have already managed 23 top-flight strikes.
The Reds have played four teams in the bottom half of the Premier League table this season and they have scored 11 times in that quartet of matches.
Klopp’s side are built to dismantle the league’s weaker sides and they could easily put four or more goals past Luton at Kenilworth Road on Sunday.
However, the Reds have kept only two Premier League clean sheets and Luton may be able to contribute to a high-scoring clash.
The Hatters have hit six goals in their five all-competition home matches this term and backing over 3.5 looks to cover both angles on Sunday.
