There’s plenty of action to come from the Premier League on Sunday with four games wrapping another intriguing week from England’s top fight.
Here we will focus on the three games kicking off at 2pm, with a feast of football from the capital at the Emirates, the Gtech Community Stadium and the London Stadium.
- Arsenal to win and both teams to score
- Aston Villa to win
- West Ham United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers both teams to score (No)
Arsenal vs Brighton & Hove Albion
After the high of their Thursday night win over Marseille to book their place in the Europa League knockout stages, Brighton have a big ask to go again at title-challengers Arsenal on Sunday.
An 88th-minute Joao Pedro goal gave the Seagulls a memorable night in Europe and next the south coast outfit must get fired up for a trip to the Emirates.
The Gunners will be eager to bounce back after their four-game winning run in the Premier League was brought to an abrupt end by Aston Villa.
Arsenal have an excellent home record, going unbeaten this season, while also winning all of their last six games at the Emirates in all competitions.
The Gunners should win on Sunday but, with Arsenal keeping just one clean sheet in their last six Premier League games, expect Brighton to also get on the scoresheet.
ARSENAL TO WIN AND BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
Brentford vs Aston Villa
Aston Villa secured their place in the Europa Conference League knockout stages on Thursday night and they get back to Premier League duties on Sunday at Brentford.
The Villans underwhelmed in their game at Zrinjski Mostar but did enough to finish top of their group after a 1-1 stalemate.
Villa have been the surprise package in the Premier League this season and have lost just one of their last 12 league games.
Back-to-back home wins over Manchester City and Arsenal have got Villa fans dreaming of what might happen this season.
It’s too early to suggest Villa are title contenders but they should certainly have the quality and winning momentum to overcome Brentford.
Thomas Frank’s side have lost four of their last five Premier League games and go into this match on the back of a 1-0 defeat at rock-bottom Sheffield United.
Villa should claim another three points to keep them in the mix at the top for at least another week.
West Ham United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers
A cagey encounter might well be on the cards when Wolves make the trip to the capital to face West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday.
There’s a standout trend to games between these sides and that’s the fact they struggle to both get on the scoresheet when they meet.
In the last 12 encounters between these clubs, only once have both sides found the back of the net.
While it might be tricky to pick a winner in what is set to be a hard-fought battle between these sides, it would be little surprise to see the trend continue and see at least one of these sides fail to find the back of the net.
