Premier League pacesetters Liverpool head to Crystal Palace in the opening top-flight action of the weekend and there should be goals at Selhurst Park in the first leg of a five-match accumulator.

Bottom side Wolves may end up pointless again as they head to fast-starting Brentford and it is worth keeping an eye out for improving Everton as they host Newcastle in Saturday’s later kick-off.

We have a top tip for each of those intriguing fixtures as well as a tasty looking goalscorer double for you to explore.

  • OVER 2.5 GOALS IN CRYSTAL PALACE VS LIVERPOOL
  • BRENTFORD TO BEAT WOLVES
  • OVER 2.5 GOALS IN LEICESTER VS BOURNEMOUTH
  • BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE IN WEST HAM VS IPSWICH
  • EVERTON OR DRAW DOUBLE CHANCE VS NEWCASTLE

Bet On The Premier League

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool

The transition at Liverpool from Jurgen Klopp’s stewardship to new boss Arne Slot has been seamless and everyone of a red persuasion on Merseyside will be delighted to see their team at the top of the Premier League table after six matches.

A 1-0 home loss to Nottingham Forest has been the only blip and with the Reds having scored at least twice in their other eight games this season, there looks a strong chance there will be goals when Liverpool head to Crystal Palace in Saturday’s early kick-off.

Six of the Reds’ last eight away matches have featured at least three goals and Palace should still be positive as they search for their first victory of the campaign.

Over 2.5 goals was a winning bet in four of the Eagles’ last six matches and Oliver Glasner’s side will probably go on the front foot as they look to rediscover the electric form in which they finished the 2023-24 campaign.

And with the Eagles’ opponents having notched ten times in their last four road trips, there should be plenty of entertainment in south London.

OVER 2.5 GOALS

Brentford vs Wolves

Brentford have flown out of the traps in their last three matches, scoring in the first minute against Manchester City, Tottenham and West Ham, and Thomas Frank’s side should have enough to claim three points at home to struggling Wolves.

The Bees boss was philosophical after their recent defeat at Spurs and the west London outfit look to be heading in the right direction, with a record of one defeat in their last ten on their own patch offering cause for confidence.

The same cannot be said of Wolves, who have earned just one point in their opening six games and have claimed just one victory in their last 16 Premier League outings.

It is nine away games without success for Gary O’Neil’s boys and that run looks likely to continue when they visit the Gtech Community Stadium.

BRENTFORD TO WIN

Leicester vs Bournemouth

Bournemouth received a strong boost on Monday when they defeated south coast rivals Southampton after storming to a 3-0 half-time lead at the Vitality Stadium.

That was the Cherries’ second Premier League success of the campaign and should have produced enough confidence for them to adopt a positive attitude when they visit another promoted team, Leicester, on Saturday.

Midfielder Antoine Semenyo has been particularly impressive - only Erling Haaland has had more efforts on goal than the Ghanaian this season. But Bournemouth face a team who have shown a level of determination in the last couple of weeks that suggests they will not simply accept a season of struggle.

Arsenal knew they had been in a game against Leicester last week when the Gunners needed two injury-time goals to claim a 4-2 victory, while Steve Cooper’s Foxes were denied their first victory of the campaign at Crystal Palace by another late strike in their previous away game after taking a two-goal lead.

Just four of Bournemouth’s last 15 tier-one road matches have yielded no more than two goals and this looks like another clash that could see plenty of net action.

OVER 2.5 GOALS

West Ham vs Ipswich

West Ham have opened the season with three home defeats and the natives will definitely be restless if the Hammers slip to another loss against promoted Ipwsich on Saturday.

A visit from the Tractor Boys will be seen as an opportunity to arrest the poor run after Aston Villa, Manchester City and Chelsea all left the London Stadium with three points, but Kieran McKenna’s side have shown signs of life and could easily make their mark.

West Ham’s only win has come at Crystal Palace, while their visitors from Suffolk have recovered from the anticipated opening defeats to Liverpool and City by earning four straight top-flight draws.

They put in what was arguably their best performance of the season when drawing 2-2 with Aston Villa at Portman Road last Sunday and it would not be a surprise if both teams were to find the net as their hosts have not kept a clean sheet in their last 12 Premier League home games.

BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE

Everton vs Newcastle

It has been a rocky start for Everton, but Sean Dyche’s side should have received a huge boost from last week’s 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace as there had been signs that a first success of the campaign was coming.

The Toffees went agonisingly close to that initial success when 2-0 up against Bournemouth with three minutes to go, only to fall to a 3-2 defeat, and it was a similar tale at Aston Villa after they had taken that game by the scruff of the neck only to be sunk by a wonder goal from substitute Jhon Duran.

With that burden lifted from their shoulders, Everton can earn something from their home game against Newcastle, who were fortunate not to lose at Bournemouth when the Cherries were denied a late winner by a questionable refereeing decision. The Magpies showed little when they fell to a 3-1 loss at Fulham on their last away trip too.
