Rocket Mortgage Classic Predictions and Betting Tips

The PGA Tour heads to Michigan this week, as a strong field tees it up at the Detroit Golf Club for the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

Tony Finau is the defending champion after his five-shot victory in the 2022 tournament and the world number 14 will be back to see if he can claim another PGA Tour success.

Last year’s winner is one of five top-20 players in the field, with the winner on Sunday set to receive a cheque for over $1.5 million.

- Tom Kim to win and each-way

- Russell Henley to win and each-way

- Chez Reavie – Top-10 Finish

Kim Ready To Strike Again

At the age of just 21, Tom Kim already has two PGA Tour titles to his name and it would be a big surprise if he didn’t add at least one more before the end of 2023.

The South Korean’s form dipped with back-to-back missed cuts at the end of May and start of June, including missing the weekend at the PGA Championship.

But Kim’s response has been impressive and the world number 24 has shown enough in the last couple of weeks to suggest he is close to rediscovering his top form.

Kim finished T8 at the US Open, even after a disappointing opening-round 73, before placing T38 at last week’s Travelers Championship.

A final-round 65 will have boosted his confidence going into a tournament in which he finished T7 last year, when he recorded rounds of 66 and 63 over the weekend.

KIM TO WIN EACH-WAY

Henley On A Roll

At the other end of the age scale to Kim, Russell Henley is now 34 years old and seeking his fifth PGA title from his trip to Detroit.

The man from Georgia has been on a consistent run over the last couple of months, starting with an impressive T4 finish at The Masters.

Since Augusta, Henley has had five top-20 finishes in six tournaments, including T14 at the US Open and T19 in the Travelers Championship.

The US Ryder Cup hopeful shot four consecutive sub-70 rounds at TPC River Highlands, including a final-round 63 which included eight birdies.

Henley also enjoyed a successful Rocket Mortgage Classic 12 months ago when he finished on -16, which was good enough to tie for tenth.

Reavie backed for a top-10 finish

Reavie Improvement To Continue

After six consecutive missed cuts earlier in the year, Chez Reavie had to work hard on his game just to regain his confidence and belief.

However, the 41-year-old has shown that he can still compete on the PGA Tour, highlighted by his T6 finish in the Valero Texas Open in April.

His last five finishes on Tour have been T40-T40-T58-T25-T4, with Reavie shooting two rounds of 63 in last week’s Travelers Championship.

Reavie is 16th on Tour for driving accuracy percentage and ranks fifth in approaches from 175-200 yards. If he can get his putter working, then this could be a successful week for the man from Kansas.
