Tottenham vs Newcastle Betting Tips - Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur suffered another second-half collapse in midweek and the out-of-sorts side could have a tough time of things when they face off against top-four hopefuls Newcastle.

The Magpies had a torrid time at Goodison Park in midweek but have claimed some big scalps lately. Eddie Howe, who is still struggling with an injury crisis, will be out to make up for his side’s poor showing on Thursday and reignite their season.

- Newcastle over 1.5 team goals

- Anthony Gordon to score or assist

- Tottenham to score first

Spurs Defence To Be Tested

After being touted as potential title contenders early in the season, Tottenham have crumbled over the past month or so and fell to their fourth defeat in five Premier League games in midweek.

For the fifth game in succession, Ange Postecoglou’s side opened the scoring but failed to see out the game, with that 2-1 defeat to West Ham making it 13 goals conceded in their last five matches.

They have conceded at least two goals in eight of their 15 top-flight assignments this season and in each of their last five, while many of the Spurs players will still be having nightmares about the 6-1 defeat they suffered the last time they faced Newcastle in April.

The Magpies have had some issues of their own lately but they have the quality to put this Tottenham defence to the sword.

NEWCASTLE OVER 1.5 GOALS

Purple Patch To Continue For Gordon

Newcastle are missing a host of first-team players but one figure who remains a constant is Anthony Gordon.

The 22-year-old has scored six goals and assisted three more in the Premier League this season and has had more shots (30) and more shots on target (14) than any other Newcastle player.

He scored the winner against Manchester United last weekend and both scored and assisted against Chelsea the weekend before, making it three goals and one assist in his last five top-flight appearances.

Facing a Tottenham defence that have shipped 13 goals in five games, Gordon could be a major threat for the visitors.

ANTHONY GORDON TO SCORE OR ASSIST

Spurs Can Get Off To Flying Start

Tottenham may have dropped off the boil recently but they remain a big threat going forward and they should be able to open the scoring against a Newcastle side that have only kept one clean sheet in seven Premier League away games this term.

The hosts have scored the opening goal in each of their last nine Premier League games and in six of their seven home matches this season. They are yet to fail to score in a league match under Ange Postecoglou and face a Newcastle side who tend to come alive in the second half of games, scoring 62% of their league away goals after the break.
