Travelers Championship Betting Tips

Travelers Championship Betting Tips

The elite members of the PGA Tour get a breather this week as they prepare to shoot the lights out at River Highlands in the Travelers Championship.

After struggling for pars in two weeks of brutal competition, first in the Memorial at Muirfield Village then at the US Open at Pinehurst, brace yourself for a barrage of birdies on one of the tour's shorter tracks.

Local hero Keegan Bradley delighted the crowds in Cromwell, Connecticut 12 months ago when he stormed home in a jaw-dropping 23 under par for a record-low total of 257.

He'll fancy his chances of a repeat with the crowd on his side but there are plenty of other contenders in the final signature event of the season, with world No.1 Scottie Scheffler the favourite.

Course Consistency A Plus For Cantlay

The 6,841-yard River Highlands plays host to the Travelers Championship where you go low or go home.

Xander Schauffele won on 19 under par two years ago, Keegan Bradley carded 23 under last year so expect fireworks from the elite 70-man field.

It's a world-class gathering with many of the players coming straight from a tough weekend at Pinehurst in the US Open, among them Patrick Cantlay, who finished third.

It was a rock-solid performance from the world No.8 where rounds of 65-71-70-70 saw him fall just two shots shy of Bryson DeChambeau's winning score.

It was a third top-five finish of the season for Cantlay, who hasn't won since late 2022 but is looking like his old self after some difficult months.

He thrives at River Highlands where he has finished in the top 15 on each of his last six starts with a scoring average of 67.17.

Harman Can Go One Better

Scottie Scheffler will be desperate to return to winning ways after going a week without lifting a trophy, though no matter how well he is playing he is now short enough in the betting at any event.

At a much bigger price, and playing well, is Brian Harman, who is honing his game nicely in preparation for his Open Championship defence at Troon next month.

The left-hander was second last year and boasts a scoring average in the Travelers Championship of 67 over his last 22 rounds.

He has been consistent in recent weeks including a 21st-place finish at Pinehurst and was good enough to finish second at this year's Players Championship. Harman looks poised for another big run.

Finau Can Bomb His Way Into Mix

Tony Finau wouldn't necessarily be top of a shortlist on a course where the putter is gold dust, but he has played well at River Highlands before.

The bomber boasts a scoring average of 68.5 around the Connecticut layout, which has never been good enough for a top-ten finish but he's knocking on the door.

Back-to-back top tens at the Memorial and US Open would give anyone's confidence a boost and he is in the top ten for birdie average on tour this year.
