Borussia Dortmund vs PSG Betting Tips - Champions League Semifinal 1st Leg

Borussia Dortmund are the outsiders of the four teams remaining in the Champions League but after dumping out Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals, the German giants will be confident of making further progress in the competition.

They take on Paris St-Germain in the semi-finals with their first leg set to take place at the Westfalenstadion on Wednesday in a match which kick offs at 20:00 UK time.

Dortmund are 9/5 to win the opening encounter this week, with the draw a 14/5 shot, while Paris St-Germain are rated 29/20 to head home with an advantage to defend on home soil next week.

  • Borussia Dortmund to win & both teams score
  • Over 2.5 goals
  • Kylian Mbappe to score at anytime

Yellow Wall Could Stand Tall

Paris St-Germain have never won on three visits to the Westfalenstadion and Borussia Dortmund can make the most of home advantage again this week.

Dortmund had it all to do in the quarter-finals after falling to a 2-1 loss at Atletico Madrid, but the famous Yellow Wall played its part in the return leg with BVB running out emphatic winners in a game they dominated.

A similar performance this week could help them carry an advantage to Paris in next week's second instalment of this contest.

The pair met in the group stage of this competition with PSG winning 2-0 on home soil following a 1-1 draw in Dortmund earlier in the campaign. There is much more at stake this time around and to put four goals past Atletico is no mean feat.

The French raiders won't be quite as obdurate in defence and Edin Terzic's men are fancied to come out on top this week, although it may be asking too much for them to shut out the soon-to-be Ligue 1 champions, so keeping both teams to score onside looks the best course of action. Whether it will be enough to reach the Wembley final remains to be seen.

DORTMUND TO WIN AND BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE

Goals To Flow In First Leg

Matches featuring both these teams are rarely dull and a lively encounter can be expected on Wednesday evening, where at least three goals could be on the menu.

Only one of the last six meetings between these two have hit that mark but there is much more at stake in this contest and BVB will be desperate to have a lead in their back pocket for the trip to France. And that could lead to a more open affair than has been seen previously.

Both teams have found the net in each of Borussia’s last five fixtures, while over 3.5 goals have featured in PSG's last five outings.

The French side may look to play it cagey, but Dortmund will want to go on the offensive and that may open up the match.

OVER 2.5 GOALS

Mbappe May Prove Too Hot To Handle

Kylian Mbappe bagged a brace in the quarter-final second-leg win over Barcelona and he could trouble the Dortmund defence, too. The French star has eight goals in the Champions League this season, but is odds-against to add to that tally in Germany on Wednesday.

Mbappe will be on penalty duty for PSG to help the cause, and he has a whopping 42 goals to his name in all competitions this season. If anyone can silence the Yellow Wall, then Mbappe can and he warrants a bet to get on the scoresheet this week.
