Euro 2024 Golden Boot Betting Tips

The 2024 European Championships will kick off in Germany on Friday 14th June as the bid to succeed Italy as champions of Europe begins.

The 24 competing nations will battle it out before a winner is crowned in Berlin on Sunday 14th July. Here's our look at some of the contenders to be leading goalscorer at Euro 2024.

  • CRISTIANO RONALDO TO WIN THE GOLDEN BOOT

Kylian Mbappe (France)

Kylian Mbappe has finally completed his move to Real Madrid and now he can train his sights on a second major trophy with Les Bleus. They were world champions in 2018 and Mbappe fired eight goals at Qatar in 2022, including a hat-trick in the final, only to lose out in a penalty shootout to Argentina.

At the last Euros Mbappe failed to find the net and then missed the crucial spot-kick as his nation were stunned by Switzerland in the last 16.

The speedy forward will be keen to make amends in Germany, where France are grouped with Netherlands, Austria and Poland.

Harry Kane (England)

Beaten finalists at Euro 2020 on their own patch, England are favourites for many to go one better now.

The Three Lions were World Cup semi-finalists in 2018 and really should have beaten Italy at Wembley in 2021 to win this tournament.

With an attacking unit that boasts Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka, this England squad is laced with options going forward.

They also have a reliable marksman in skipper Harry Kane, the 30-year-old forward now by some way England's all-time leading scorer.

His move to Bayern Munich may have failed to bring a trophy but Kane was a beacon amid troubled waters for the German giants in his first season.

This tournament takes place in the country he now calls home and that could be an advantage for Kane as he seeks his first major piece of silverware.

Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal)

He may be 39 years old but Cristiano Ronaldo is not one to write off, ahead of what looks set to be his swansong in major tournament football for Portugal.

Turkey, Georgia and the Czech Republic are the Group F opponents for the Iberian nation, though it remains to be seen how they'll manage Ronaldo's game time.

CRISTIANO RONALDO TO WIN THE GOLDEN BOOT

Jude Bellingham (England)

With 19 La Liga goals, Jude Bellingham's first season as a Real Madrid player could scarcely have gone any better. He was the joint-third highest scorer in Spain's top-flight and helped his team win the La Liga/Champions League double.

He'll turn 21 during the Euros and, while he's riding the crest of a wave, it's worth noting he only has three England goals to this point and will likely need to more than double that in Germany to win the Golden Boot.

Romelu Lukaku (Belgium)

The Belgian 'golden generation' has perhaps faded now, without ever getting the big-stage rewards many had forecast, but perhaps that will offset some pressure on the Red Devils.

The likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku remain and the latter will need to provide plenty of goals if his side are to be contenders.

Lukaku was the second highest scorer at the 2018 World Cup and Euro 2020, while he was the leading scorer in qualifying for this tournament with 14 goals - four more than Ronaldo, five better than Mbappe and six more than Kane.

Rasmus Hojlund (Denmark)

The Danes went right the way to the semi-final last time and are past-masters at knockout tournament football.

In Manchester United's 21-year-old forward Rasmus Hojlund they have a brand new attacking threat, set to have his first crack on this grand stage.

Denmark have a decent draw with Serbia, Slovenia and England - the side that knocked them out of Euro 2020 - and if they navigate their way into the knockout stages, Hojlund could be a dark horse after scoring seven times in qualifying.
