Premier League Betting Tips - Matchday 31, Tuesday

Five Premier League fixtures are scheduled to take place on Tuesday, with many relegation-threatened sides in action trying to claim valuable points to escape the drop.

The likes of Everton, Nottingham Forest and Burnley are all on show, while the pick of the day’s games sees a battle for the European places take centre stage as West Ham host London rivals Tottenham.

Recommended five-fold: Newcastle to win to nil, BTTS in Nottingham Forest vs Fulham, Bournemouth to win, Burnley to win and Over 2.5 Goals, BTTS in West Ham vs Tottenham

Newcastle vs Everton

Newcastle host their second home fixture in a matter of days when they take on Everton on Tuesday and Eddie Howe’s men will be looking for a much more comfortable and less dramatic encounter this time around.

The Magpies were 3-1 down against West Ham with 13 minutes of normal time left to play but produced a sensational comeback to take all three points in a 4-3 victory.

On paper Everton should produce less nerve-shredding drama for the Magpies faithful, given that their last league victory came at Burnley back in mid-December - a barren run now stretching 12 matches in the top flight.

Sean Dyche’s men have lost each of their last three games and their away form does not show too much promise on the goal front, with only bottom side Sheffield United netting on fewer occasions on the road than Everton’s 15.

Newcastle kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory in this fixture last season and another shutout win could be on the cards, with the Magpies likely securing a wider margin of victory.

NEWCASTLE TO WIN TO NIL

Nottingham Forest vs Fulham

Forest battled to a second consecutive 1-1 draw in their weekend fixture at home to Crystal Palace and a similar story could well be told when they host another mid-table side from the capital in Fulham.

The point gained saw Nuno Espirito Santo’s men escape the bottom three on goal difference and they will see a home meeting with the Cottagers as a good opportunity to open up a gap on 18th-placed Luton - who face a tricky trip to title-chasing Arsenal on Wednesday.

Marco Silva’s men produced a gutsy fightback to claim a point at Sheffield United - ending 3-3 after being 3-1 down - and have shown marked improvement on the road in recent weeks. They have lost just one of their last four away games, taking five of their 11 total away points in the process..

The Tricky Trees have registered just one league win at home in 2024 and an improving Fulham could make this a tricky encounter to call. However, the “Both Teams to Score” market could be a lucrative option, given that five of the hosts’ last seven games at the City Ground have seen both sides find the back of the net while the same can be said of each of Fulham’s last four away trips .

BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE

Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace

Bournemouth will enjoy a fourth successive home Premier League fixture when they host Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace, and signs point to a home victory given the recent form of the Cherries at the Vitality Stadium.

Andoni Iraola’s men are unbeaten in three games in front of their own fans, winning the last two which includes a memorable comeback from 3-0 down to beat Luton 4-3 - and they could leapfrog Chelsea, possibly to 11th, with victory.

Palace meanwhile have seen improvements under Glasner but results on the road continue to remain elusive, with the Eagles last taking all three points away from Selhurst Park back in November - a 2-0 victory at Burnley.

The Cherries possess one of the best home records in the bottom half of the table (20pts) and with star striker Dominic Solanke continuing to fire on all cylinders (16 goals), the hosts should prove to be too strong for the Eagles on Tuesday night.

BOURNEMOUTH TO WIN

Burnley vs Wolves

Burnley looked on course to go back down to the Championship with little more than a whimper, but a three-game unbeaten streak has breathed new life into their survival bid and they will be confident in extending this run against Wolves.

The Clarets managed to take a point at Stamford Bridge in their last outing - despite playing over half the game with 10 men - and the five points accrued over their last three games has moved Vincent Kompany’s men to within four points of safety.

Wolves have had a difficult time of things as of late, losing three of their last four games in all competitions, and have missed the goalscoring talents of Pedro Neto, Hwang Hee-Chan and Mattheus Cunha through injury in recent weeks.

Gary O’Neil’s men could still be reeling from their derby defeat at Aston Villa at the weekend and Burnley will have momentum and home advantage on their side. With three of their last four games at Turf Moor seeing over 2.5 goals, Burnley could be on the right side of a goal-heavy encounter.

BURNLEY TO WIN AND OVER 2.5 GOALS

West Ham vs Tottenham

Arguably the headline act of Tuesday’s fixtures sees a capital derby at the London Stadium as West Ham host Tottenham and there could be joy for both sides in front of goal in this one.

The Hammers will likely still be reeling from their late capitulation at St James’ Park at the weekend, although they have had plenty to cheer about when playing in front of their own fans this season as they have failed to score on just three occasions at home in all competitions.

On the flip side, David Moyes’ side have kept just four clean sheets in the league at the London Stadium and this will provide confidence, if needed, to Tottenham, who have failed to score in just two games in all competitions under Ange Postecoglou.

The final result may be too close to call but there will be plenty of quality on show to suggest goals in this encounter. Four of the last five head-to-heads at West Ham have seen both sides find the back of the net, with both also scoring in December’s reverse fixture, and a repeat is expected on Tuesday.
