Sheffield United vs West Ham Betting Tips - Premier League

West Ham suffered a shock FA Cup defeat to Championship side Bristol City in midweek, but they have a chance to get back to winning ways when they head to Sheffield United for a 14:00 kick off on Sunday.

The Blades are in desperate need of points if they are to move away from the relegation zone and Chris Wilder’s men may find some relief at Bramall Lane.

  • Sheffield United/draw double chance
  • Under 2.5 goals

Blades Can See Off West Ham

Sheffield United have won only one of their last nine Premier League matches, while West Ham have lost on three of their previous 15 games in all competitions.

That would suggest that the Hammers are bankers on their trip to Bramall Lane on Sunday, but the contest may not play out quite how the records suggest.

Wilder has had only seven games in charge since he returned to south Yorkshire and they have been anything but easy tasks.

The Blades have faced Liverpool, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Man City since Wilder returned and United haven’t been disgraced in those tricky fixtures.

The south Yorkshire side have beaten Brentford on Wilder’s watch and they picked up a morale boosting 4-0 FA Cup victory over Gillingham last time out.

West Ham fielded a pretty strong side at Bristol City on Tuesday night, but they were still dumped out of the FA Cup and that made it only two wins in six games for the Irons.

At the prices, backing Sheffield United and the draw on the double chance market looks a bet.

Goals Could Be In Short Supply

West Ham looked short in the attacking department at the start of the season and, while those worries have appeared unfounded for much of the campaign, there have been concerning signs of late.

The Irons have scored only one goal in their last three matches and it has to be a major worry that David Moyes men could only manage six shots on target across 180 minutes of football against Championship Bristol City in the FA Cup.

The Hammers have scored only six goals in their last six away matches and even that tiny tally is probably a little flattering, considering Moyes’ men have only registered 19 shots on target in those half dozen contests.

Backing under 2.5 goals looks a value play at Bramall Lane.
