Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich Betting Tips - Champions League Semifinal, 2nd Leg

European powerhouses Real Madrid and Bayern Munich meet in Wednesday's Champions League semi-final second leg at the Bernabeu (20:00).

Real knocked out holders Manchester City in the quarter-finals while Bayern beat Premier League title contenders Arsenal and their semi-final tie is finely balanced after last week's dramatic 2-2 first-leg draw in Munich.

Bayern Defence May Buckle

A Champions League semi-final between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich was always going to be an occasion to savour and last week's first leg in Munich did not disappoint.

Real will have been happy with their 2-2 draw away from home and they are clear favourites to progress to the final although they needed a late penalty from Vinicius Junior to peg Bayern back.

Thomas Tuchel's side, deposed as German champions by Bayer Leverkusen after winning 11 Bundesliga titles in a row, possess a major goal threat through prolific striker Harry Kane and attacking midfielders Leroy Sane, Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry.

And Real have looked vulnerable at the back in recent weeks, drawing 3-3 at home to Manchester City in the quarter-final first leg at the Bernabeu and allowing the Citizens 33 shots at goal in the second leg in Manchester.

Carlo Ancelotti's men held their nerve to win on penalties at the Etihad Stadium and also enjoyed a tense 3-2 home victory over Barcelona last month on their way to reclaiming the title in La Liga.

With home advantage, Real should get the job done against Bayern, whose defence is also a concern.

Min-Jae Kim struggled in the first leg and fellow centre-backs Eric Dier, Matthijs de Ligt and Dayot Upamecano have all had injury problems recently so backing Real to win and both teams to score looks a good bet on Wednesday.

Bayern have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last 11 away matches, including 3-2 Bundesliga defeats at Bochum and Heidenheim and last weekend's 3-1 loss at Stuttgart and they may come up short in a high-scoring second leg.

Expect Another Lively Start

Bayern made a confident start to the first leg at the Allianz Arena but Real took the lead, against the run of play, through Vinicius in the 25th minute.

Over 1.5 first-half goals is worth a bet in the return fixture as both teams look stronger going forward than they are defensively.

Real's last home Champions League match was the quarter-final first leg against City, who took the lead in the second minute before the hosts hit back with goals in the 12th and 14th minutes.

In Bayern's away leg at Arsenal the score was 1-1 after 18 minutes and Real's recent clash with El Clasico rivals Barca also saw both teams find the net in the first 20 minutes.

Right-Back Set For A Card

Real's stalwart right-back Dani Carvajal missed the first leg due to suspension and he may struggle to stay out of trouble at the Bernabeu.

Carvajal has been booked three times in seven Champions League appearances this season and Bayern have a host of dangerous wide players who could give him a difficult night.

Sane, Gnabry and Musiala are all options to start for Bayern on the left flank while full-back Alphonso Davies also loves to get forward and Lucas Vazquez, who deputised for Carvajal in the first leg, was booked in Munich.
